Went out for a weekend dinner with the kids at our go-to spot, Ikki Roll Katsu, and had some seriously good pork cutlet 💛

What kind of restaurant is Ikki Roll Katsu Garosu-gil Main Branch?
Ikki Roll Katsu Garosu-gil Main Branch has held its ground near Sinsa Station for a long time as a roll katsu (rolled, breaded and fried pork cutlet) specialist. Unlike a typical katsu, it rolls thinly pounded meat around various fillings before frying it, and that distinctive look and texture keep people coming back.

- Atmosphere: A cozy, warm wood-tone interior — comfortable for dates, friend gatherings, or eating solo
- Features: Tablet ordering at every table makes ordering and paying easy, and a neat starter soup and side dishes come out before the meal

Inside Ikki Roll Katsu: seating and the Naver-booked meeting room
True to the feel you get from the exterior, the inside of Ikki Roll Katsu Garosu-gil Main Branch is decorated with a cozy, comfortable mood 🩵
Overall the wooden tables and warm-toned lighting give it a snug feeling. Little decor pieces and framed art hang here and there on the walls, giving it a casual yet homey atmosphere ;) Maybe that's why, even though families like us come here too, it seemed like most people were on dates 🥰
There's also a meeting room you can use after booking through Naver Reservation, which looked really useful as a space for nearby offices or small gatherings. The room fee is ₩20,000, but it comes with two ades included, so the value was pretty good too 👍

Tablet ordering and what's on the self bar
Now, time to order! Every table has a tablet ordering device installed, so you can check menu photos and details and order at your own pace right from your seat :)

Ikki Roll Katsu also has a clean self bar where you can freely help yourself to rice and basic side dishes during the meal. If you need more rice or soybean paste soup beyond what's served, you can refill as much as you want — the best 👍 The broccoli soup is unlimited too! There's also plenty of radish salad and crunchy pickled radish, which taste amazing alongside the roll katsu.

Along with the main katsu, rice, salad, starter soup, and basic side dishes are all set out neatly as one tidy meal — perfect 👍

Chicken katsu: how it tasted
The chicken katsu is a dish that shows off the tender, juicy texture of chicken breast and tenderloin — quite different from pork.

It's light and never dry, while the outside fries up wonderfully crispy. Thanks to the chicken's clean flavor, it pairs perfectly with the fresh cabbage salad and sauce that come with it 💛 Even the little details in the sauce plating are so cute!!

Classic pork katsu with Seonjin pork loin
Beyond the flashy roll katsu, the classic pork katsu lets you enjoy the charm of a solid, traditional cutlet. My first child and I always order this one!

The breading is crispy, and the pork loin inside is thick yet tender, keeping its light, clean flavor alive. It pairs so well with the rich, slightly sweet house katsu sauce that you can enjoy it cleanly to the last bite without getting tired of it 🤤
Curry roll katsu: the signature dish
The curry roll katsu comes topped generously with a rich, fragrant curry sauce over the katsu, which is rolled from thinly pounded meat before frying.
Curry seeps moistly between the crispy breading, making it perfect to eat together with rice. The distinct curry flavor cuts through the fried dish's richness, making it a hearty menu you'll finish in one go! If you like your curry with a little kick, this one's recommended 👍

After finishing up and heading out, I noticed a sign saying they use top-grade Seonjin pork loin. Guess that's why today's pork cutlet was so tender haha.

The tidy waiting seats and restroom out front were satisfying too 👍
