Indian brewpub date in Pangyo: Set B tandoori chicken at Bombay Broy

I had somewhere to be near the Pangyo café street recently, and since I was heading that way I figured I'd try something a bit different for lunch. My husband and I used to go to an Indian curry place a lot back when we were dating, so that memory popped into my head and we headed to Bombay Broy, an Indian restaurant on the Baekhyeon-dong café street. Honestly, kind of a perfect Pangyo date spot, right?

What the Baekhyeon-dong café street entrance looks like

The sign has "Indian cuisine" in big letters, and the entrance has Moroccan-style lanterns and a little wooden Indian soldier figure (?) — we hadn't even walked in yet and it already felt so India. Haha.

Once we got inside — oh my, look at this view. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows you can see pine trees and maples slowly turning color, so even right in the middle of the café street it felt like being in the woods. On a sunny day, a window seat here would just be a picture.

Halal, vegan and craft beer: Bombay Broy for Pangyo group dinners

The interior is genuinely India through and through. Blue antique cabinets, hookah decor, colorful mosaic tiles — it really felt like traveling to India. By the way, there's a whole row of beer taps by the open kitchen — turns out Bombay Broy is also a brewpub that sells its own craft beer from a Busan brewery?? Seemed like a great spot for drinks in the evening, so I've quietly filed this away as a Pangyo work-dinner spot for whenever overseas clients visit. Plus, since we sometimes get vegan foreign guests, having both a vegan menu and halal status makes this a solid choice for hosting too!!

Bombay Broy lunch set prices and order times

Bombay Broy has plenty of great à la carte dishes, but their weekday lunch sets are also great value.

• Lunch Set A / ₩14,900: choice of one curry (chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, prawn makhani, or dal makhani) + naan & rice
• Lunch Set B / ₩17,900: Lunch Set A plus tandoori chicken

Since we'd come all this way, we decided to eat well and ordered two Set Bs. You have to pick different curries each so you can try both, right? So we went with the signature chicken tikka masala for one, and butter chicken for the other. Just a heads up — lunch sets are only orderable on weekdays (Mon–Fri) until 3pm!

If you're coming as a group, there are also courses like the Maharani course (2 people) at ₩43,900, the Maharaja course (2 people) at ₩53,900, and the Family set (3–4 people) at ₩92,900, so it could work well for a Pangyo family gathering too??

Once you order, they first bring out salad and pickles. Lettuce salad with olives scattered on top, cucumber pickles, and jalapeños. These pickles are secretly a game-changer when the curry starts feeling rich.

Ta-da, look at the full spread. Two baskets of garlic naan, rice, two kinds of curry, and tandoori chicken — honestly it felt like maybe too much for two people, it was that generous.

Garlic naan and chicken tikka masala in Lunch Set B

Starting with the garlic naan — it was well-grilled, chewy both outside and inside. You could really taste the garlic, and that garlicky, savory flavor paired really well with the curry.

Next, the signature chicken tikka masala. The flavor doesn't hit all at once — it comes in stages. First a light saltiness, then the tomato tanginess smacks your palate, followed by a smooth, harmonious curry flavor, and finally it finishes with a wave of spice and aromatic heat.

That's the charm — all these different flavors rolling through your mouth in harmony. It's seasoned a touch on the salty side, so it went especially well with naan or rice.

Butter chicken tastes better with naan than rice

Then the butter chicken. Compared to the tikka masala, it has a bit more sweetness, so alternating between the two curries was a perfect sweet-savory combo. It's not overwhelmingly sweet — a natural, well-balanced sweetness that never felt too much.

Probably because it has more butter, the richness and smoothness really stand out, so personally I thought it went better with naan than with rice. Bread and butter just make more sense together, haha.

Tandoori chicken, the highlight of Set B

The highlight of Set B — tandoori chicken! The spice level was just right — no overpowering or strange aromas that would make it hard to eat.

The spices were nicely infused, and since it wasn't overcooked, the meat stayed juicy rather than dry — we really enjoyed it. Paired with the spicy onion side dish that came with it, it also cut through any richness nicely.

Overall the portions of naan, rice, curry, and tandoori chicken were all generous, so even though my husband tends to eat a lot, we still had leftovers, haha. If you like lassi (plain, mango, strawberry), adding one on the side would make the meal complete.

Is Bombay Broy Pangyo worth it for a date?

This was exactly the kind of unusual date or lunch spot I was looking for in Pangyo. The interior made it feel like a little trip, the view was great, and the lunch set kept it good value — if you've been curious about Indian food in Pangyo, this is worth a visit.
