Woowine, hanwoo omakase in Suwon

Hi, it's Nari! 🤍 When people think of Suwon's hottest spots, after Haenggung-dong there's definitely Ingye-dong, right?! 👀 Since Ingye-dong is mostly bars, you might wonder where to go for a date or an anniversary — and I've got the answer: hanwoo (Korean beef) omakase, a total lifesaver! 🥩 Enjoying premium hanwoo as a course, and the price is... seriously amazing...! ❣️ Starting from ₩150,000 for two — can you believe it? Omakase, and not for one person but two! It's 'Woowine,' a hanwoo omakase spot right near Suwon City Hall Station! 🔥 I'm going to walk you through my honest review of the sirloin set the owner grills perfectly to order, paired with spicy green onion pasta — I totally fell for it, so stay tuned! 💖

Inside Woowine: the golden door and the hanwoo display case
Woowine is a hanwoo omakase restaurant on the 1st floor of Jeonggeon Building in Ingye-dong, Suwon, with a heavy golden door for an entrance. From the outside, that striking golden door grabs your attention instantly! The moment you push it open, a display case full of fresh hanwoo and wine bottles unfolds before you, and your jaw drops right at the entrance! 👀
Inside, under a large, flashy LED screen, private bar seats and tables are lined up neatly, each with its own tabletop grill! ✨️

In particular, the basic tableware setup has this gorgeous mother-of-pearl feel that blends traditional Korean sensibility with a modern atmosphere in a really lovely way — just sitting down made me feel treated like royalty! ❣️

Even the wet-towel holder is a cute cat, how is that allowed, Boss?! 🐈 The attention to detail in every piece of tableware is amazing! By the way, they also have a huge drink menu and sell wine tasting options too! 🍷

The course opens with hanwoo beef bone broth
The first course of Woowine's omakase is hanwoo (Korean beef) bone broth served in a small cup. It's the very first thing set on the table as soon as you sit down! 🍲 The moment I took a sip, the rich, savory flavor of long-simmered bone broth spread warmly through my whole mouth! ❣️ Clean yet full of umami, it gently settled my stomach before the meal — a fully satisfying first step!

Four finger foods: beef tartare cones and shrimp jeon
After the bone broth, Woowine's course brings out four appetizers including beef tartare cones and shrimp jeon (pan-fried shrimp). This four-piece appetizer plate is pure Instagram bait, exactly what you'd expect from a hanwoo omakase! 🎨
The 'beef tartare cone' — a crisp mini cone tart shell packed with fresh, chewy yukhoe (beef tartare) — was outstanding, the savory flavor and crunchy texture hitting together the moment I bit in! 👀 The golden-fried shrimp jeon and crispy, salty fried bites added all kinds of textures popping in my mouth, ramping up my excitement for the next course! 🫶🏻

The main event: 300g hanwoo sirloin set, grilled one-on-one
Woowine's main dish is the 300g hanwoo sirloin set for ₩155,000 for two, grilled personally by the owner to match your preference. Finally, the main dish I'd been waiting for! The hanwoo sirloin set made its appearance! 🥩 Hanwoo served in a mother-of-pearl box...? 🩷

Woowine's biggest perk is that the owner grills each piece with precision, tailored one-on-one to what you like! ❣️

Grilled to medium-well at my preferred pace, dipped in a bit of salt and popped in my mouth — right behind the crisp, golden crust, a burst of juicy, rich flavor melted away instantly! 🫶🏻

Even with wasabi or whole grain mustard, the beef's own savory flavor was so good that my partner and I kept exclaiming 'wow' over and over! ❣️

Green onion pasta and the side dishes at Woowine
The side we added at Woowine was the hanwoo green onion pasta. We added 'green onion pasta' as a side, and honestly, this is a must-order menu item! 🍝 The noodles, soaked in a spicy-sweet secret sauce infused with sharp, fragrant green onion, are bursting with umami! Wrap a well-grilled piece of hanwoo sirloin around the spicy green onion pasta noodles and eat it in one bite ❣️ — the beef's richness gets completely cut, and you'll find yourself endlessly reaching for more, it's a wild experience! 👀 Plus the baek-kimchi (white kimchi) and crunchy radish salad served alongside were great reinforcements, refreshing your palate between bites of beef!

Dessert: homemade pear sorbet
The last course at Woowine is a homemade pear sorbet made by the owner. The moment the finely shaved, crunchy ice particles hit your mouth, the tart, sweet flavor of pear juice spreads gently, never overpowering! ❣️ It completely washed away the greasiness left from eating meat, wrapping up the meal on a fresh note! 🫶🏻
