Today I visited Caffeine Focus near Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon. It's a great spot to rest while walking around the fortress, and I'd wanted to go because you can enjoy coffee and a meal while looking at the fortress wall :) Let's get into the honest review as always ᰔᩚ

Where is Caffeine Focus in Suwon?

Caffeine Focus is a café with a Hwaseong Fortress wall view, located at 15 Changnyongdae-ro 80beon-gil, Paldal-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi, South Korea (1st-3rd floor). It's right near Hwaseong Fortress, so I got to enjoy the surrounding scenery even before stepping inside.

Hwaseong Fortress already has great vibes just from walking around, but resting at a café with this kind of view made me feel like I was on a little trip :)

What I was most looking forward to at Caffeine Focus was, of course, the view! From the window seats, you can see the Hwaseong Fortress wall, which was lovely.

On a nice day, it seems like a great idea to grab a drink and just rest a bit while looking at the fortress wall. It would also suit anyone looking for a café during a Hwaseong Fortress date or outing.

What we ordered at Caffeine Focus and what it cost

On this visit I ordered a ciabatta sandwich for 14,000 won, an avocado smoothie for 7,000 won, and an Americano for 5,500 won — a simple meal plus coffee and a drink :)

Jambon ciabatta sandwich, 14,000 won

Let's start with what I enjoyed most, the ciabatta sandwich! It was packed with basil pesto, fresh tomato, arugula, jambon, and mozzarella cheese between the ciabatta.

Cutting it in half showed just how generously filled it was — plenty enough for a full meal. The bread had that classic ciabatta texture, plain and crisp outside with a chewy inside, and the tomato and arugula kept the whole thing from feeling too heavy.

The combination of basil pesto, mozzarella cheese, and jambon worked especially well together. Personally, of everything I ordered that day, the ciabatta sandwich was my favorite. It's a great menu item when you want a proper bite alongside your coffee instead of just coffee alone.

Avocado smoothie, 7,000 won

Next up is the signature avocado smoothie. Maybe because of the avocado, it had an overall smooth, heavy texture.

It wasn't very sweet or bold in flavor, which was a bit of a letdown for my taste, but on the flip side, it should work well for anyone looking for a healthy, not-too-strong drink. It seemed like a good pick especially if you're dieting and want something not overly sweet, or in the mood for a healthy-feeling smoothie.

*This one might be a matter of personal taste, so if you like sweeter smoothies, keep that in mind.

Americano, 5,500 won

And of course, the Americano ☕️ Sipping a clean cup of coffee while looking at the Hwaseong Fortress wall was relaxing all on its own.

Paired with the sandwich, the drink went perfectly with the meal.

I think Caffeine Focus's biggest charm is being able to look out at Hwaseong Fortress. There are tons of cafés near Hwaseong Fortress, but since you're already out for an outing, why not rest while taking in a view of the fortress wall like this ,,

Especially on a nice day, you can enjoy the view outside the window too, which makes your time at the café feel even more relaxed. It's a spot that also suits anyone looking for a place to rest during a Hwaseong Fortress date.
