Sinchon hair salon tassel cut and blue tone-down dye: Demon Hair

My hair had gotten seriously messy lately, so while I was out in Sinchon I stopped by a salon. This time I went to Demon Hair, a hair salon in Sinchon. I'd wanted to try it for a while since I heard they're great at layered cuts, and since my length was awkward and my color was totally patchy, I figured I'd get a cut and dye done at once haha.

Where Demon Hair Sinchon Branch is and what the salon feels like

Demon Hair Sinchon is right in front of Sinchon Station Exit 1, so there's no worry about getting lost haha. It's on the 3rd floor of the building, and the space is bigger than I expected, with a clean, comfortable overall feel!

The seats weren't cramped together either, so I could relax comfortably during the whole appointment. I was seen by stylist Taeyeon that day!!

How the consultation for the medium-length layered tassel cut went

Before doing anything, we started with a consult on what style to go for at Demon Hair Sinchon Branch. My length was right at that awkward medium-length stage with an existing layered cut, and I wanted to keep that overall feel ㅠㅠㅠ

But instead of having too many visible layers, I said I wanted a cleaner tassel cut look with just light layering mixed in. I also said that even though it's a bob, I didn't want it to look like a student's bob — I wanted something a bit more mature haha (someone with a very clear idea of what she wants........)

And what was even more urgent than the cut was my hair color. After my black dye last time, I'd done a tone-up on top of it, so my whole head was a mess ;;;;;; some parts light, some parts dark — I honestly couldn't tell how many different colors were on one short head of hair haha.

On top of that, I'm cool-toned, so colors with redness or yellowness really don't suit me ㅠㅠㅠ so I asked for something that neutralizes the redness as much as possible while going calm and toned-down.

Stylist Taeyeon carefully checked my current hair condition and how much color had faded, and walked me through which colors would suit me and look good. Her own hair color was so pretty that I asked if I could get something similar, and she said yes — so we went straight ahead!!

Before: heavy, patchy medium-length hair

Looking back at the before photos, my hair condition was seriously bad lol. I'd grown out an existing layered cut and trimmed it once in the middle, so it felt really heavy overall ㅠ

Short length is comfortable for a bob, but it had that student-bob feel, which was totally different from the image I wanted ㅠㅠㅠ

I also asked her to take a before photo of the back, and the color patchiness there was really no joke.... let's see how it transforms~~

One thing I loved about Demon Hair was that after your treatment, you get a personalized aroma therapy service!! I chose the stress-relief scent haha. Sitting still while getting your hair done is already kind of healing, but adding a scent on top made the whole service even more satisfying haha.

The result: a blue-mixed tone-down dye that kills redness

The moment I saw the color, I loved it.... The redness I was most worried about was cleanly neutralized. It wasn't too dark or heavy either — it stayed calm but still had life to the color, exactly the tone I wanted haha. They said blue was mixed into the dye, and that once some of the color fades over the next few days, it'll come up even prettier.

Seeing it under actual sunlight, the color showed up so much better and looked even prettier haha. My dyes always used to end up looking off because of red and yellow tones, but this time everything was balanced and my hair looked so much cleaner overall — very satisfied!!

The cut also kept the feel of my existing layers while tidying up the ends neatly, so my hair looked noticeably lighter and more put-together than before. The mature-looking tassel bob I wanted was complete!! She even showed me how to style the ends myself at home to recreate a similar look. I went in because I heard they're great at cutting, and they nailed both the layered cut and the dye — completely satisfied!!
