Why I booked a solo private sauna
I hadn't been to a sauna in a while — you know that particular stiff, heavy feeling when you haven't been in ages? I used to go with my mom sometimes, do a jjimjilbang session and get scrubbed down, but it had been a while and I was really craving a sauna. Then I found out there's such a thing as a solo sauna?! And in Cheonan, of all places? I looked it up and found "My Bless Sauna."

It's in Bulsang-dong, which is notorious for bad parking, but My Bless Sauna itself has plenty of parking! I went in with high expectations. A sauna where you can relax alone at your own pace — because honestly, sometimes there's that whole "ajumma culture" at saunas, where people strike up conversation, and that can feel a little uncomfortable, haha. My Bless Sauna's big advantage is that you get to enjoy it privately!

The interior didn't feel like a sauna at all — more like walking into a café. I actually double-checked I was in the right place, haha!

Check-in, membership passes and the mini snack menu
At My Bless Sauna, you register your own parking, and before using the sauna, you fill out a consent form, after which the owner helps guide you through everything.

There are membership passes for people who want to come regularly — after just one visit, I found myself seriously eyeing them, it was that good! And there's also a mini snack menu you can eat while using the sauna!

There are also some rules to know — you have to wear a sauna suit or robe while using the sauna.

90 minutes or 110 minutes: which course to book?
I went with the basic 90-minute sauna course at My Bless Sauna, going in with the huge advantage of having the whole space entirely to myself. My takeaway after the fact: I should've gone for 110 minutes — the 90 minutes flew by faster than I expected!

Amenities provided: Aveda, Kiehl's and a Dyson dryer
Every product used at My Bless Sauna turned out to be from a solid brand. From towels to skin toner and lotion — I'd forgotten to bring my own skin and lotion and was worried, but they had Aveda products ready, so I was completely covered. There was even a comb prepared after being sanitized, and the hair dryer was a Dyson!

As mentioned, for hygiene you wear a sauna suit or robe inside the sauna, and a hair cap to protect your scalp and hair.

The pre-sauna snack: boiled egg and sikhye
The snack given before entering the sauna! Egg, sikhye (sweet rice punch), ice, water, and even natural salt — honestly, this is real healing, isn't it!

The moment I walked in, there was a tub already filled with warm water! I wanted to jump in right away, but I planned to use the sauna first.

Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all prepared, so it really felt like I could've shown up with nothing but myself! There was even a foam cleanser — and it was Kiehl's, the same brand whose cream I already use. Every product on hand was one I already trust, which honestly moved me a little. Ever since I had a bad reaction once from switching products, I've gotten sensitive about what I use on my skin.

What the Finnish-style dry sauna felt like
Time to actually go into the sauna! They call it a Nordic, Finnish-style sauna. Apparently a Finnish sauna uses low-humidity dry heat that raises the temperature slowly. Maybe that's why it didn't hit me with sudden intense heat the way some saunas do — I was able to stay in for a good while (about 10 minutes)!

And of course, with sikhye and egg waiting, I could easily last that long! More than anything, being able to enjoy it quietly, all alone, was so nice — sitting in the sauna without thinking about anything really melted all my fatigue away.

After 90 minutes at My Bless Sauna: final verdict
Finally soaking once more in the warm tub at the end, and I was surprised at how quickly the 90 minutes had actually gone by! My whole body had felt so stiff and heavy that day, but after the sauna and bath, I went straight home and passed out asleep. Hygiene, privacy, and quality — My Bless Sauna has it all. If you're in Cheonan and want to properly heal and unwind, I highly recommend it!
