I headed to Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, a stylish Haeundae Chinese restaurant near Dalmaji that's great for dates, over on the Dalmaji side of Haeundae.

This Haeundae Chinese restaurant is easy to reach from both Haeundae and Jung-dong, and it's right near Haeundae Dongbaek Elementary School, across from Hillstate Weave — a perfect stop if you're already out around LCT or Mipo.

Where do you park at Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch?
For parking at this Haeundae Chinese restaurant, there are 2–3 spots beside the building's bakery shop, and if you go around and down to the lower side of the building, there's a dedicated parking lot.

Inside Bueokgan Chinese: pastel interior and window seats
Stepping inside Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, the modern interior felt genuinely thoughtfully done, right down to the lighting and every little prop.

Instead of the deep red look of a traditional Chinese restaurant, this Haeundae Chinese restaurant is a pastel-toned, upscale dining space — spacious, comfortable and calm, so

It's a great setting for dates, family dinners, work dinners — all kinds of occasions. The tables are spaced far apart so you're never bothered by the next one over, and each table has a slightly different mood, so the interior never gets old even if you visit often.

The window seats at this Haeundae Chinese restaurant look out onto a lush green view, and warm sunlight pours in through the window, giving the pastel dining room an even more upscale feel.

Kkanpung shrimp, 28,000 won — how does it taste?
At Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch I ordered the kkanpung shrimp for ₩28,000. Pickled radish and jajangmyeon-style pickled cucumber (jjajangmyeon side dishes) came out first, and since I wanted it spicy, I asked for chili oil on the side.

The kkanpung shrimp (₩28,000) was the first dish to arrive. Most Chinese restaurants serve chili jumbo shrimp, but Bueokgan is known for its excellent kkanpung sauce, so I went with the kkanpung shrimp instead.

Visually it was packed with big jumbo shrimp and looked so appetizing. The kkanpung sauce had that signature spicy-salty kick with plenty of garlic aroma, plus a generous amount of nuts adding a nutty flavor — really delicious.

Biting into the jumbo shrimp released a burst of juice, with a thin batter coating on this kkanpung shrimp. The spicy sauce was so good I kept scooping up more of it — an addictive dish.

Pork belly pepper stir-fry, 28,000 won with 4 flower buns
Next up was the pork belly pepper stir-fry (오겹고추잡채) for ₩28,000. It arrived looking striking, with four flower buns (꽃빵, steamed Chinese buns) alongside the pepper stir-fry made with pork belly.

The pork belly was chewy and rich, and the tri-color bell peppers and onions were stir-fried with a great smoky char — the pepper stir-fry wrapped in a flower bun was savory and nutty.

Using pork belly gave a great fat-to-lean ratio that made the pepper stir-fry even more flavorful, and the sweetness of the onion paired with the freshness of the bell peppers made for a really delicious Chinese dish. Whenever you want a stylish Haeundae Chinese restaurant with something special on the menu, why not head to Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae/Jung-dong Branch and enjoy that tasty kkanpung shrimp?
