I've been making the rounds of restaurants near Hanyang University Station in Ansan, and this time I finally found a proper one!! Suamgol Jjokgalbi Maeul Ansan Hanyang University Station Branch 🌟 Among Ansan restaurants, this lineup honestly deserves to be on any top list 😍 It's already known as a go-to spot for work dinners in Ansan, so the staff were all kind and the store was spotless — I trusted the place the moment I walked in!!

I was so curious about the crazy jjokgalbi that I ordered it!! I can't resist spicy food haha. They even had the newer soju out, so I snapped a photo. Saero and Chum-Churum were even on discount!

They bring out pickled onion, stir-fried fish cake, corn, and green onion kimchi as basics! If you run out, no need to feel awkward — just help yourself to more at the self-serve bar!!!! You can freely grab bowls yourself too, which was so nice

Free sundubu-jjigae with every order 🫧

I loved that they gave us a free sundubu-jjigae (soft tofu stew) as soon as we sat down!! Being able to enjoy a stew alongside the meat made the whole spread feel so much more generous 😍 A service like this at an Ansan work dinner spot really bumps up satisfaction!! The soup also cuts the greasiness and pairs perfectly with the meat!!

The crazy jjokgalbi is a strong recommend for true spice fanatics!! The first bite already had the spicy sauce soaked deeply into the meat, so the heat hits right as it goes in your mouth 🔥

But it's not just heat — a savory depth follows right after, making it addictive so your hand keeps reaching back for more!! The sauce is packed in between the bones on the jjokgalbi, so the more you pick at it, the spicier it gets TT😍 It also comes pre-grilled, so there's no waiting around — you can dig in right away!!

I ordered the crazy jjokgalbi and BBQ jjokgalbi together, and this combo was seriously so good!! Alternating between them gives you that perfect spicy-sweet balance, so I highly recommend ordering both instead of just one!! Being able to order single portions of each was such a nice touch haha

The BBQ jjokgalbi is coated all over in a sweet, glossy sauce!! One bite brings a rush of sweet BBQ aroma along with the tender texture of the meat 😋 It's not greasy, and there's a savory note underneath the sweetness — a completely different charm from the crazy version!!

And honestly, I've never felt jjokgalbi this tender before... it just cuts so softly that it'd be great for kids too! If you're looking for a family dinner spot near Hanyang Uni Station in Ansan, definitely check this place out~~ I actually watched a kid there eating it happily haha

There's also rice cake, and it's thick and really chewy! Perfect to eat partway through the meal~!

I also ordered the retro lunchbox and the presentation was gorgeous!! Ta-da, look at that!!!?

Mixing it all together makes the flavor even richer, and it pairs so well with the jjokgalbi!! This rice with the jjokgalbi turns into a truly complete meal 😍 Having a side menu like this at an Ansan restaurant was such a nice bonus!!

Kimchi noodle soup (kimchi-mari-guksu) to cool the heat 🍜

I also ordered the kimchi noodle soup and it was genuinely clean and delicious!! The tangy, refreshing kimchi broth blends perfectly with the chewy noodles, making it perfect as a palate cleanser 😋 It's not intense at all, just a clean finish

After the heavy sauce on the jjokgalbi, taking a bite of this in between totally resets your palate!! It's great for finishing without feeling too heavy, so I'd definitely recommend it 🍜

Free ice cream to finish the meal 🍦

At the end of the meal they give out free ice cream, with a variety like Screw Bar, Melona, and Yomamet!! Being able to pick your own was such a thoughtful touch 🥰 A small gesture like this really boosts the urge to come back haha!!

It's rare for a restaurant near Hanyang Uni Station in Ansan to go this far with the finishing touches!! (First time I've seen this myself haha)

And they even had candy for kids, phone chargers, hair ties, stain remover, fabric deodorizer TT The owner's thoughtfulness is amazing!!! Since the meat smell can be a concern, having deodorizer ready too was such a touching detail haha
