Spicy pork cutlet and mushroom soup at Onjeong, a Sanbon restaurant
In short
Onjeong Gyeongyangsikdang Sanbon Academy District Branch is a Western-style pork cutlet (donkatsu) restaurant in the Sanbon academy district of Gunpo, Gyeonggi. The order was the classic gyeongyangsik pork cutlet and the Onjeong spicy pork cutlet, each set served with cutlet, soup, cream soup and bread, and the thin crispy coating and the deeply mushroom-scented soup stood out most. The spicy cutlet is pleasantly hot rather than sweat-inducing, so it is easy to finish.

Today I visited Onjeong Gyeongyangsikdang Sanbon Academy District Branch, a Gunpo pork cutlet spot! There's a public parking lot nearby, so I parked there. Let's look at the menu first ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓

What to order at Onjeong Gyeongyangsikdang Sanbon Academy District Branch
We ordered the gyeongyangsik pork cutlet + Onjeong spicy pork cutlet + a drink. Coming to a gyeongyangsik pork cutlet restaurant, it felt like a must to order the classic one too, haha.

They say they use only thick cuts of meat trimmed the same day, not frozen or factory-processed, manage the oil fresh every day, and get a clean taste that's unique to Suyu-style fryers. Made me even more excited for the cutlet...

Inside Onjeong: dining room and self-serve bar
Onjeong Gyeongyangsikdang Sanbon Academy District Branch was so clean and tidy!

There were people eating alone, and plenty of families too :)

They give you the basic side dishes, and for extras you just use the self-serve bar!

And apparently the cutlet sauce is simmered fresh in-house every single day, haha.

The full menu~

Cutlet, soup, cream soup and bread: the mushroom soup steals the show
The set with pork cutlet + soup + mushroom soup + bread was really well composed.

I ate the soup before the cutlet, and the flavor was really refined. The mushroom scent was so good too! Best soup I've had at any pork cutlet place, haha.

Gyeongyangsik pork cutlet with a thin, crispy coating
Onjeong's gyeongyangsik pork cutlet comes as two big chunky pieces, and it's on the thin, crispy side!

Personally I prefer thin cutlets over super thick ones. Since the meat is thin, every part of the cutlet stays crispy. Oh, and the side salad — maybe because it had green citron in it — was tangy and delicious.

How spicy is Onjeong's spicy pork cutlet?
And then the Onjeong spicy pork cutlet.

Even fully coated in sauce like this, it stayed crispy, which I loved, and the spicy sauce wasn't the kind that makes you sweat or struggle to eat. It was just spicy enough to be tasty.

I also liked that the breading wasn't too thick~ you could tell they use clean oil.

Turning the bread, salad and cutlet into a sandwich
Putting the salad and cutlet inside the bread that came with the meal made it even tastier! If you're looking for a good gyeongyangsik pork cutlet restaurant around Sanbon, I recommend Onjeong Gyeongyangsikdang Sanbon Academy District Branch!
It's been a while since I had such a good gyeongyangsik pork cutlet, and the staff greeted us so kindly right when we walked in, which made the meal even better :) I was so focused on the cutlets today that I didn't try the udon or soba, so I'll have to order those alongside next time~!
