A family of four came for a Saturday dinner and ordered pork gukbap without dadaegi chili paste at 11,000 won, spicy pork-neck gukbap at 14,000 won and hangover ramyeon at 12,500 won, and the child finished a whole bowl of rice in the broth. After Yunsik's training session, we headed toward Cheonho Station for dinner with the family. After some back and forth on where to go, we ended up at Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch, a place I'd had my eye on for a while. Parking is always a worry when we eat out as a family, so it was such a relief that this spot has parking and is open 24 hours, meaning we could eat whenever we wanted. The weather had turned quite chilly, so I was craving a deep, savory gukbap or a spicy, tangy hangover soup, and true to its reputation as a neighborhood favorite, the exterior alone gave off a hearty, comforting vibe.

What the booth seating at Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch is like

Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch has a wood-toned interior with tables separated like partitioned booths, which made it comfortable to sit with our child. Beyond the hall visible from outside, there's a much larger seating area further back.

Stepping inside, the wood-toned interior blended with soft lighting to feel really cozy and comfortable. Every table was well separated like a partitioned booth, which made it a nice atmosphere for eating comfortably with kids.

Beyond the hall visible from outside, there were much more spacious seats further in the back. It's large enough and comfortable enough to hold up to 104 people in a group, so it's also a great spot for group gatherings or company dinners.

Boseung Hoegwan menu and prices near Cheonho Station

The menu at Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch is varied, from basic sundaeguk (blood sausage soup) to bone hangover soup, pork set meals, and bone potato soup. The gukbap (rice-and-soup) comes with seasoning sauce and perilla seed powder by default, but you can ask to leave them out when ordering.

I liked even more that it's a 24-hour restaurant where you can order whatever you're craving, hearty and satisfying, any time you visit — it really lived up to being one of the standout spots around Cheonho Station. We ordered one pork gukbap without the chili sauce, one spicy pork-neck gukbap, and a hangover ramyeon. Note that you can ask to leave out the seasoning sauce and perilla seed powder when ordering, so enjoy it however you like.

How the pork gukbap, spicy pork-neck gukbap and hangover ramyeon tasted

Of the three dishes we ordered at Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch, the pork gukbap without chili sauce was mild enough that our child finished a whole bowl of rice mixed into it. The spicy pork-neck gukbap had a real kick, and the hangover ramyeon came out bubbling in its own stone pot.

Soon the stone pots arrived along with tidy diced radish kimchi, fresh cut-cabbage kimchi, and crisp chives. The kimchi and diced radish kimchi were really delicious! 👍

Milky pork gukbap without chili sauce

First, for our little one, the pork gukbap without chili sauce had a milky, rich broth with no off flavors, packed with thin, tender slices of meat. The broth was mild and savory, so our little one had no trouble mixing in a whole bowl of rice and finishing it happily.

Spicy pork-neck gukbap

My husband's pick, the spicy pork-neck gukbap, was loaded with the chewy, tender pork neck the dish is known for, and the spicy, deeply savory broth was really appealing.

And the hangover ramyeon, which arrived bubbling away in a stone pot, had springy noodles paired with savory boiled pork, making it fun to slurp up bite after bite. Yunsik skipped the perilla powder on his, saying he didn't think it would go well with ramyeon. 😅

This visit to Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch left our whole family warm, full, and satisfied.
