Sinsa spa in Seoul: 90-minute postpartum energy therapy, Bonmi Studio
In short
Bonmi Studio is a private esthetics studio run by a single director on Gangnam-daero 152-gil near Sinsa Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Six months postpartum, I booked the 90-minute full-body energy therapy course, which includes an InBody body composition reading before and after the session, and my body fat went from 32% to 31%. My hands and feet are usually cold, but after the treatment at Bonmi Studio the warmth ran from fingertips to toes and lasted a long time.

Six months after giving birth, I've been noticing more and more that my body just isn't what it used to be. My lower body feels heavy easily, and my hands and feet tend to run cold, so by the end of the day the tiredness lingers. I've been getting body care regularly, but I felt like something was missing, so while looking into other options I came across energy therapy — and that's how I ended up visiting Bonmi Studio, an esthetics studio near Sinsa Station.
What kind of spa is Bonmi Studio near Sinsa Station?
Bonmi Studio's name carries the meaning of bringing out one's original beauty, and it's a Sinsa Station esthetics studio run personally by a one-director who has specialized in skin and body care for a long time. I arrived on time for my reservation and was greeted with warm tea; after my body was gently warmed up, we moved into the consultation.

I expected a one-person shop to feel small, but the space was actually bigger than I thought and never felt cramped. It was much roomier than a typical treatment room, which I really liked — the atmosphere let me focus fully on relaxing.

The changing room even had a clothes steamer set up, so I could keep my clothes neat — a nice little touch.
Consultation and InBody measurement before the treatment
I only knew that Bonmi Studio's energy therapy was some kind of circulation treatment, but the director walked me through exactly how it worked step by step, which made it easy to understand. She explained that condition can vary depending on lifestyle habits and body state, and the program is adjusted accordingly.

The 90-minute full-body course I received also included a body composition measurement. I knew my body fat had increased after giving birth, but seeing the actual InBody number — 32% body fat — was honestly a shock haha. I started the session even more curious about what changes I might see afterward 😀
How does the 90-minute energy therapy work?
What surprised me most about Bonmi Studio's energy therapy was how different it was from typical device-based treatments. Instead of placing a device directly on the skin, the director herself acted as the conductor, delivering the treatment through her fingertips.

It was impressive that the intensity could be finely adjusted area by area, which made the director's experience and technique feel all the more important!

She started with me lying face down, working from my toes up through my back and shoulders across the upper body, then had me turn over to carefully care for the front, including my abdomen.

The 90 minutes flowed without any breaks in focus, and thanks to her extensive experience with pre- and postnatal care, she quickly picked up on which parts of my body were tense. I even learned that my left side is relatively more tense — which matched a discomfort I'd been feeling, so that was a surprising discovery 👍
InBody results after: body fat from 32% to 31%
After the energy therapy session ended, I had another InBody measurement so we could compare before and after.

Body fat percentage changed from 32% to 31%, and there were changes in the subcutaneous and visceral fat numbers too!! 👏👏👏

Skeletal muscle mass and basal metabolic rate had also shifted, and seeing it laid out in a graph made it easy to take in at a glance!

Of course, I don't think a single session changes everything — the numbers are more of an interesting reference point alongside my condition at the time of measurement. My hands and feet are usually cold, but the warm feeling from fingertips to toes lasted a long time; I even felt warm indoors with the air conditioning on. My whole body was warm enough that it almost felt hot! More than anything, the director paid close attention from start to finish and shared little everyday tips along the way, which made the time feel well spent.
Who is Bonmi Studio best for?
Bonmi Studio, the Sinsa esthetics studio I visited, felt especially well suited to anyone who wants to comfortably improve their skin or body condition in a private space.
- People preparing for pregnancy
- People who want to take more careful care of their body after giving birth
- People who weren't satisfied with regular body care
- People whose hands and feet run cold and whose lower body feels heavy
Above all, thanks to the director's careful touch and thorough approach, it was a satisfying session I could relax into from start to finish 🙂
