In short

On a visit after 10pm, the small aged sashimi combo cost 48,000 won and came as flounder, salmon, mackerel and red seabream, alongside a minari vegetable salad for 2,000 won and a bowl of potato chips for 10,000 won, all clean-tasting with no fishy smell. There's a menu board hanging outside so you can check the menu before going in. Nice to see it all at a glance. Last time I also ordered the aged sashimi combo, and even though I wanted to try something else this time, I ended up ordering it again~~

Inside Parang Haenyeojip: still full of diners at 10pm

Inside Parang Haenyeojip Sinsa Direct Store, a huge screen covers one whole wall, playing footage of a clear blue sea. Even though I went late, past 10pm, there were still lots of customers..!! Every time I've walked by or visited, it's always buzzing and clearly popular. A real aged sashimi favorite on Garosugil in Sinsa!!

A plate of minari vegetable salad tossed with cabbage

Minari vegetable salad, 2,000 won

The minari (water celery) vegetable salad is ₩2,000, an option you can add when ordering aged sashimi at Parang Haenyeojip. It comes out as a full plate, cabbage and minari tossed in a tasty seasoning.

Small aged sashimi combo, 48,000 won: which fish came out?

The small aged sashimi combo is ₩48,000, made up of 3–4 in-season fish.

Plate of aged sashimi with flounder, salmon, mackerel and red seabream

Flounder, salmon, mackerel, red seabream. Kind of proud I can identify fish like these now without being told~~ The top of the mackerel was torch-seared, and hot water was poured over the skin of the red seabream for a matsukawa style prep. Alongside came pickled radish, ginger, makjang (soybean dipping sauce), baek-kimchi and more.

The staff explain the fish lineup as they serve it. Beyond that, from the very first response to serving to the very end, whoever we asked, every single staff member was so kind. On the first call, at checkout, when we asked for salt, when handing over the menu, all of it. Now that I think of it, they were super friendly last time too (though I was always very drunk!)

The fish look sooo good~~ A real aged sashimi favorite on Garosugil in Sinsa!! Plenty for two people. Not a hint of fishiness! Just the right amount of aging gives it that punch of umami, ㅜㅜ this flavor always makes me happy.

A small dish of flower salt served on request

I like to eat live-fish sashimi dipped in salt, so I asked for some, and they brought flower salt!! Extra points for that!

Close-up of a single piece of aged sashimi

Getting to eat mackerel sashimi!! Didn't get individual shots of the flounder and salmon, but as expected, Parang Haenyeojip is delicious!!

I've been to other aged sashimi places where the fish gets over-aged and goes a bit mushy, but Parang Haenyeojip, the aged sashimi favorite on Garosugil in Sinsa, is once again a place I want to come back to.

A large bowl piled high with potato chips

Bowl of potato chips, 10,000 won: is it really a whole bowl?

The bowl of potato chips is ₩10,000. I ordered it out of curiosity about how big a 'bowl' would be, plus I wanted a snack, and it really does come piled high in a big bowl haha. A true bowlful!! The potatoes are thinly sliced and fried, super crispy and crunchy, with a nice thick chip texture. Just a light sprinkle of salt was enough on its own, but... I kept eating and ended up ordering it twice haha.

Parang Haenyeojip, the aged sashimi favorite on Garosugil in Sinsa, is great at aged sashimi, and looking at other tables, some seemed to order the haenyeo box, a mixed platter of delicious-looking seafood dishes. Seems like it's not just one good menu item, whatever seafood you order here turns out delicious ㅠㅠ
