Black-tone Chinese dining hall in Suwon: Peking duck at Gang's Duck
In short
Gang's Duck is a Peking duck–focused Chinese dining restaurant in an alley behind Suwon City Hall in Ingye-dong, Suwon. Booked in advance, the visit covered half a Peking duck for 39,000 won and a dongpo-yuk (braised pork belly) rice bowl for 13,000 won, with cucumber and scallion strips rolled in wheat pancakes and dipped in sauce, and the leftover bones fried and brought back out. The wide black-toned hall at Gang's Duck suits dates, work dinners and large group gatherings alike.

Hello! If it's delicious, I say it's delicious. If it's not, I say it's not. I judge and review restaurants strictly on three things: taste, service, and hygiene.
The restaurant I'm introducing this time is 'Gang's Duck' in Ingye-dong, Suwon. I went to a Chinese dining restaurant where you can enjoy proper Peking duck in Suwon! Let's get started with the review! Let's go~
Where is Gang's Duck and what are its hours?

Gang's Duck from the street

Gang's Duck is located in an alley behind Suwon City Hall in Ingye-dong. It's easy to get to if you come out of Exit 6 of Suwon City Hall Station! It took about 5 minutes, I think, haha.
Inside Gang's Duck: a black-tone modern Chinese dining hall
Let's take a look around the inside of Gang's Duck!

The inside is really spacious, so it feels very open, and there were so many tables, haha. The interior is done in a modern, hip black-toned Chinese style, so it felt way more sophisticated than a typical Chinese restaurant!

It felt surprising to be able to enjoy Peking duck (Beijing duck), which isn't easy to find, in such a nice atmosphere.

The restroom is also located inside and separated by gender, so it was super clean!
What's on the Gang's Duck menu?
There wasn't a separate paper menu, so I took a photo of the kiosk! I think you can check the detailed menu on Naver, haha.
To list a few briefly, there's Peking duck, Buddha jumps over the wall, steamed rockfish, dongpo-yuk (braised pork belly), dan dan noodles, black pepper fried pork, water spinach, spicy chicken, butter-fried sweet and sour pork, mala cream shrimp, cereal shrimp, handmade water dumplings, Hong Kong-style egg noodles, shrimp fried rice, and more! Such a huge variety!!!!
And as a lunch-only menu, there was dongpo-yuk rice bowl, eggplant in fish-fragrant sauce rice bowl, mapo tofu rice bowl, and more!
Table setting and side dishes at Gang's Duck

I visited after making a reservation, and the table was already set up as a reserved seat, haha. The tableware was so pretty and neatly arranged, which was really nice!
Ordering half a Peking duck (39,000 won) and a dongpo-yuk rice bowl (13,000 won)

I ordered these two menu items: [Half Peking duck ₩39,000] [Dongpo-yuk rice bowl ₩13,000]!

When you order Peking duck, they give you wheat pancakes to wrap it in like this — you wrap cucumber and scallion strips in the pancake and dip it into the special sweet bean sauce! The cucumber and scallion made it refreshing and it paired really well.

After carving the Peking duck, they fry up the leftover bones and serve them! This kind of thoughtfulness was so nice, hehe.

The dongpo-yuk rice bowl comes with egg soup! If you mix it up thoroughly, it's not salty at all and the seasoning is just right and delicious!! Good good.

Gang's Duck verdict: which occasions is it best for?
I think it'd be nice to visit again later just to drink some baijiu. Besides the dongpo-yuk rice bowl and roast Peking duck, there are so many other menu items that I was curious about and reluctant to leave, haha.
In particular, the chefs have built up their careers at hotels, so the completeness of the dishes was very high! Everything was so, so delicious. Gang's Duck is great for all kinds of occasions — dates, of course, but also work dinners and group gatherings!
