Daegu restaurant with stroller access and sous vide steak: Dana
In short
Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch is a pasta and steak restaurant on the second floor of a building on Dongseong-ro 2-gil in Jung-gu, Daegu. Carrying a stroller up the stairs for lunch with a baby, the writer ordered sous vide beef flap steak, cheongyang chili bacon cream pasta and baked risotto at Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch. A few days ago, on my husband's day off again, we went out for a delicious Western-style lunch in Dongseong-ro after a long while. Not far from Banwoldang Station, there's a place with some truly special Western dishes in Dongseong-ro. That's where we went — Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch.

Where is Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch, and can you bring a stroller?
Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch is on the 2nd floor of a building at 12-24 Dongseong-ro 2-gil, Jung-gu, Daegu. It's not far from Banwoldang Station, so it's easy to reach by public transit.

Since we had to go up stairs, we had to put in a bit of effort hauling the stroller up, but it wasn't a huge deal. Just a big thank you to the owner for letting us bring the stroller in 🙏

Dana sells a wide range of Western dishes — pasta, steak, rice, risotto, beer, and wine. Unfortunately there's no dedicated parking lot, so it's probably easier to use a nearby paid parking lot or, since it's close to Banwoldang Station, just take public transit. Our place was nearby so we walked 👍
There's a restroom right as you walk in. It's inside the building, so we didn't have to go down any stairs, which was convenient.
Two floors of seating and baby chairs at Dana Dongseong-ro
Inside the first floor

Dana has a duplex structure. Right at the bottom of the stairs on the 1st floor is the order and payment counter, along with 3 tables for 4, so you can dine there too. There were baby chairs available, which made it feel like a good spot for a family meal.
Inside the second floor
Going up the stairs to the second level, there are even more seats than on the 1st floor — a mix of 2-person and 4-person tables. If you need space for a group of 8 or more, they say calling ahead is enough for them to arrange enough room. Plenty doable for group gatherings or work dinners ⭐
What we ordered at Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch

Among the many menu items, we agonized and finally picked our order. Since it was our first visit to Dana, we went with the restaurant's signature best-seller dishes.

Sous vide beef flap steak
Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch's beef hanger steak is cooked sous vide, apparently.
- Sous vide: a cooking method where meat or fish is vacuum-sealed and slowly cooked for a long time in low-temperature water
- Sous vide — French for 'under vacuum'
- Because it cooks slowly at a constant temperature, it cooks evenly all the way through
- Keeps the juices and moisture well
- Known for its tender texture

After the first sous vide cook, it's seared a second time in natural butter to get that crispy-outside, juicy-inside finish — that's Dana's beef hanger steak. You can choose your side dish: French fries or salad, and if you go with salad, you can choose yogurt or balsamic sauce. Not sure what to pick, we took the staff's recommendation and went with the salad with yogurt sauce.

The sweet-tangy yogurt salad first woke up our appetite, then we tried the mushroom and mashed potato garnish — so good. The freshly grilled mushrooms were just as tasty as the steak itself. And the mashed potato — no words needed, haha.

This was my first time trying a sous vide steak, and it was delicious — the texture wasn't tough at all, just tender. Crispy-outside, juicy-inside beef hanger steak ⭐ There are various sauces set out so you can enjoy the meat in different ways — whole grain mustard, wasabi, salt, and steak sauce — and it was nice to savor each one and try them all.
Cheongyang chili bacon cream pasta

Bacon cream pasta with spicy cheongyang chili (a hot green Korean chili pepper), which I love?! I knew I had to try this one, so I picked it without a second thought.

The base was a classic cream pasta flavor, but with cheongyang chili and what looked like a bright red Vietnamese chili mixed in, it definitely had some spice to it. As someone who loves spicy food, I felt it could've been spicier, but it did a good job cutting through the richness, so I enjoyed it all the way through — the cheongyang chili bacon cream pasta. Roll up the cheongyang chili, bacon, and pasta together and eat it in one bite — spicy and so good ⭐
Baked risotto

Just as much as the cheongyang chili bacon cream pasta, this was another must-try signature best-seller — the baked risotto. Visually, it's unlike anything I've seen anywhere else.

The risotto is wrapped in a tortilla and baked once more in the oven for extra crispiness — that's Dana's baked risotto. Cheese and risotto packed inside the tortilla. The smell wafting out was just so good.

The combo of crispy tortilla and soft risotto was great, and the slightly spicy cream sauce risotto had this deep savory flavor that just kept us going, magically 👍 We ordered it out of curiosity since it was a dish we'd never seen before, and it exceeded expectations — surprising and satisfying, this baked risotto ⭐
Is Dana Dongseong-ro worth a lunch out with a baby?
Every single dish we ordered fit both my husband's and my taste perfectly, so this lunch was a total win. From the cream pasta with cheongyang chili, to the tortilla-wrapped risotto, to the sous vide beef hanger steak — Dana is a Western food spot in Dongseong-ro, Daegu, with some genuinely special dishes you don't often see 💛 Worth a visit whether you're going with family, friends, a partner, or coworkers for a fun, delicious meal.
