Pohang Songdo lunch rush: two cream pastas and beef pilaf at Plan A

I visited on a previous trip to Pohang and it was even better than expected, so this time I revisited without a second thought — Plan A Restaurant, a Songdo, Pohang favorite.

Arriving at the 11:45 opening, and full by 12:20

There was a wait last time, so this time I made sure to arrive right at the 11:45 opening. I figured that would give us plenty of room,,,!

I have no idea when everyone else got there haha — aside from reserved tables, there were only about three seats left, and by 12:20 the place was completely full!

It was crowded last time too, and it's the same story again this time — every time I come there's a crowd, so this really does seem to be a Songdo, Pohang spot loved by locals.

The white ragù beef cream spaghetti and carbonara spaghetti that were so good last time — we ordered them again. I did consider trying something new for a moment, but went with the sure thing haha.

Both are cream-based so you'd think they'd taste similar, but once you actually eat them, it's a combination that never gets tiring. Just as delicious the second time around.

How is the signature beef pilaf at Plan A?

Last time I ordered the mushroom black sesame salad, but this time I tried the beef pilaf, said to be the restaurant's signature dish. It looked appetizing from the start, and it tasted just as good.

Pilaf is made by frying rice in oil and then cooking it in broth or seasoning, so it can have a slightly moister texture than regular fried rice — and true to that, the rice was a touch soft, but it was generously loaded with quality meat, and the combination of mushrooms, onions, and chili oil made it delicious.

The 4th-floor ocean view over Songdo Beach

Plan A Restaurant sits on the 4th floor, so it's also an ocean-view spot where you can eat while looking out at Songdo Beach and the sea. The interior isn't a flashy, trendy design, but the food alone is enough to bring you back. Restaurants near tourist beaches sometimes have views that outshine the food, but this place is genuinely different. Satisfied last time, satisfied again this time!

Verdict and opening hours for Plan A Restaurant

With food this good, it's no wonder it's always popular — even arriving right at opening, the place filled up fast, which shows it's steadily loved by locals too, while also being an easy spot for tourists like us to visit. A Songdo, Pohang restaurant that's dog-friendly too!
