Giheung roastery café with birch forest views: Terreno Cité Special

I went out this weekend for a drive and a trip to IKEA, and ended up discovering an absolute life café — Terreno Cité Special, right near the Giheung outlet and IKEA in Yongin!

The birch forest view through the floor-to-ceiling windows was so pretty I kept gasping the whole time I was there. It's a great café for feeling the cool autumn breeze, so if you want quiet contemplation, I'd recommend a weekday visit.

The first-floor outdoor seats especially come recommended!

Inside Terreno Cité Special: sunlight, birch trees and window walls

The moment I opened the door, I was hit with a clean white-toned interior and sunlight pouring straight in — it felt like all my stuffiness just cleared away.

The breads on display are arranged beautifully, and through the huge glass windows the birch trees spread out lush and green — just looking at it is pure healing! Go up to the second floor and it's an open structure where you can look down over the first-floor space and the view outside,

and there are plenty of comfy solo seats and group tables too, making it a great spot for a weekend family gathering, a date course, or solo healing time.

What to order: two Americano roasts and squid-ink cheese roll bread

Terreno Cité Special is a roastery café that roasts its own beans, so the coffee flavor was definitely on another level! You can choose your Americano beans — nutty roast or bright acidity — based on your taste!

We wanted to try both, so we ordered one of each Americano, and the flavors were different enough that I'd recommend couples order both and taste-compare. And then there's the bakery corner you absolutely can't skip! Hygiene wrap covering the display shelves made it look super clean.

With a wide variety of breads and mini dessert cakes, it's easy to pick something depending on your mood that day.

Small tips before you visit Terreno Cité Special

There's a self-packing station on one side of the store, so you can comfortably pack up any leftover bread yourself without worrying about it.

Best photo spots at the birch forest zone and what to do nearby

Terreno Cité Special's outdoor birch forest zone was lovely because it made me feel like I'd gone on a trip somewhere.

There's also an atmospheric bench, great for pretty photos~~ I'd recommend shooting from the terrace toward the building.

And IKEA Giheung and Lotte Premium Outlets Giheung are just 5–10 minutes away by car, so a weekend route of shopping first and then stopping by for a coffee is a perfect plan.

I usually prefer a mellow, no-acidity type of Americano, but Terreno Cité Special's coffee has a slight brightness that pairs really well with the bread, making it taste even better.

The bread is also really tasty, making this a great spot for brunch too. The squid-ink cheese roll bread comes highly recommended!! The cheese is just the right amount of salty, which makes it taste even better. And that amount of cheese is no joke, right?

Is Terreno Cité Special worth the drive? An honest verdict

What I loved: the birch forest view through the window-wall is so pretty, parking is convenient, and both the coffee and bread were fully satisfying!

What was a bit disappointing: during weekend peak hours there are a lot of people, so you'll need to do a bit of competing to snag a nice window seat.

A huge café that's perfect for enjoying bread and coffee while looking at a refreshing birch forest view when you're out driving around Yongin! If you're heading to the Giheung area this weekend, be sure to stop by and heal a little. Closed Sep 25 for Chuseok!!
