Korean BBQ with a baby and stroller near Jeju Airport: Dolgyeok Hanwoo
In short
Dolgyeok Hanwoo is a hanwoo beef restaurant in Yeondong, Jeju City, about 10 minutes by car from Jeju Airport. On day one of a 3-night, 4-day Jeju trip with a 5-month-old baby, the writer rolled a stroller in for lunch, was seated where the stroller could park beside the table, and ate 300g of manong (garlic) galbisal short rib with unlimited hanwoo seaweed soup while the baby slept. Dolgyeok Hanwoo is an easy call for travelers who have had their fill of Jeju black pork.

Lunch on day one of a 3-night, 4-day Jeju trip with our 5-month-old baby, we stopped by a Yeondong, Jeju favorite near Jeju Airport for beef — Dolgyeok Hanwoo. Whenever we come to Jeju, we always eat black pork, so hanwoo felt a bit unfamiliar but also like something worth trying at least once. Turns out it was a great choice — so delicious!
Where is Dolgyeok Hanwoo, and where do you park?

After picking up our rental car at Jeju Airport and stopping at a café, we visited Dolgyeok Hanwoo, a Yeondong favorite just 10 minutes from Jeju Airport — a great hanwoo beef spot to stop by on your arrival or departure day.

Parking is available in front of the restaurant, but when we went it was full, so we used the nearby Sinjeju public parking lot.

Rolling a stroller inside Dolgyeok Hanwoo

The interior was a decent size with a clean look.

Seeing that we had a stroller, the staff kindly seated us somewhere we could keep it right beside us. Thanks to that, our baby slept soundly in the stroller the whole time, so we could enjoy the beef in peace too, ㅠㅠ. It had been so long since we grilled beef like this... so moved...

The bathroom was neatly set up inside the restaurant.
Dolgyeok Hanwoo menu and ordering tips

This is the menu at Dolgyeok Hanwoo. It's split into grilled dishes, sides, and meal dishes. We were told grilled dishes could be ordered starting from 300g, so we ordered 300g of garlic galbisal — turns out mixed ordering is possible too...! I didn't quite understand that and ordered a bit wrong, so it was a shame we couldn't try a variety of meats, but once I actually tasted the garlic galbisal, it was so good that ordering less would've been a shame — glad we got 300g haha.

They recommend eating in this order: chadolbaegi (thin-sliced beef brisket) → hanwoo specialty cuts → hanwoo galbisal and black pork cubed pork jowl → garlic galbisal. There's also a detailed guide to sauce pairings for the best flavor, so be sure to check it out!
Honest review: manong galbisal and hanwoo seaweed soup

First, they set out the side dishes. There were a whopping 5 sauces — salt, whole grain mustard + wasabi, Dolgyeok sashimi sauce, garlic chili soy sauce, and garlic sauce — and once the fire was lit, they placed the garlic chili soy sauce and garlic sauce right on the grill.

Next came the hanwoo beef miyeokguk (seaweed soup), simmered in a stone pot. Honestly, the soup alone could be a full meal... I was surprised at how generously packed with hanwoo beef it was, and it turns out refills are unlimited. When you ask for a refill, they bring you a fresh, piping-hot bowl — the garlic galbisal was great, but I'm still thinking about this soup.
And then, the star of the show: 300g of garlic galbisal. It arrived with a full Jeju vibe, set alongside a dol hareubang (stone grandfather statue) figure lol. They marinate the galbisal fresh right before serving. Just looking at the marbling was already impressive...

First I tried the garlic galbisal plain, with no sauce at all — the meat quality was so good it melted in my mouth, and the garlic sauce's signature sharp-yet-sweet flavor was really appealing.
Two ways the staff say to eat manong galbisal
As we were grilling with the garlic from the garlic sauce on top of the meat, a staff member came over, helped us grill, and kindly explained the best way to eat it haha.
- Method one: dip the meat in garlic chili soy sauce while grilling, then top with Dolgyeok sashimi sauce, then finish with a 1:1 mix of whole grain mustard and wasabi on top.
- Method two: simmer the garlic from the galbisal in the garlic sauce, then place the reduced, concentrated garlic on top of the meat.
Eating it exactly as they explained really brought out the flavor of the meat even more. My husband and I were both impressed and dug in properly haha.

Personally, the first method suited my taste the best..!! If you're coming to Jeju, don't just stick to black pork — I'd highly recommend trying the garlic galbisal too haha.
Is Dolgyeok Hanwoo worth a lunch stop with a baby?
