Suwon bakery café with squid ink cheese ciabatta: Caffeine Focus

I've been looking for a great big café in Haenggung-dong lately, and I finally found one.

Where is Caffeine Focus in Suwon, and when is it open?

This is Caffeine Focus, a big bakery café in Haenggung-dong with a Hwaseong Fortress view.☕️ All three floors — 1st, 2nd, and 3rd — are café space, in a standalone building, which is rare for a big Haenggung-dong café! It's closed every Tuesday, and open from 11 AM to 8 PM Sunday through Monday, excluding Tuesday!

On nice-weather days like these, there are outdoor seats too~~ Since the whole building is a café, you don't feel awkward doing homework there~~ good, and there were a lot of people working as well.

Caffeine Focus bakery menu and prices

This famous Haenggung-dong bakery café sells all kinds of bakery items. There are bottled drinks, sandwiches, ciabatta, and more~~~ There are also small individually-packed carrot pound cakes, good for a snack or to take home.

They have a lot of different ciabatta, and ciabatta is really their famous item! You can order it to-go too. Beyond plain, there's olive, cheese, chocolate, fig, and more.

I ordered plain ciabatta ₩4,800, squid ink cheese ciabatta ₩5,300, egg scone ₩4,500, and vanilla bean Basque cheesecake ₩8,000!!

They have coffee, non-coffee drinks, smoothies, signature teas, ades, and more~~~ Their signature menu items — avocado smoothie, avocado coffee, ube cream matcha latte — are unique and give the place its own character!~!~!

Being a big Haenggung-dong bakery café, the interior is very pleasant with plenty of seats~~ Best of all, the seats are comfortable enough that you don't feel uneasy sitting for a long time, and I loved that!!!

Here's the atmosphere on the 2nd floor. The Hwaseong view looked great from the 2nd floor, and the fortress-wall view looked great from the 3rd floor too~!~!! It's hard to find a big café like this in Haenggung-dong, so I really love that it has both a great view and a large size!!!

And the owner thoughtfully set out blankets, lemon water, and cushions for use.~~ Women wearing skirts could comfortably grab a blanket to use!?!

Plus, on nice-weather days, there are outdoor terrace seats perfect for enjoying the atmosphere and scenery while sitting~~~ Each floor has its own different mood and feel.

The 3rd floor has such a pretty atmosphere, such lovely seats. On this cool~~ pretty autumn day, sipping coffee while gazing at the fortress — pure healing!!!

There are windows everywhere, so you can enjoy the outdoor scenery. Being able to enjoy the fortress-wall view from anywhere is a huge plus!! The sunset view from Caffeine Focus, the big Haenggung-dong café, is so pretty...!!

How did the ciabatta, egg scone and Basque cheesecake taste?

This is a Haenggung-dong café whose bakery is really famous. We ordered ciabatta, egg scone, and Basque cheesecake, and every single item was delicious without exception!!!!

My friend loves ciabatta so much that she picked that, and I love egg tarts and Basque cheesecake, so I ordered this combination of menu items.~~

Maybe because it's a vanilla bean Basque cheesecake, you can see vanilla bean specks scattered throughout the cake!!!! Above all, it was very soft and nutty. And it had a strong cheese flavor along with vanilla flavor — it felt like the first genuinely delicious Basque cheesecake I'd had in a while...❣️ I really love Starbucks' Basque cheesecake, and this one follows right behind it!!!

As for the ciabatta, it's chewy yet clean-tasting...! I was so happy my friend liked it! Hahaha. Since it's ciabatta baked fresh in-store every morning, the bread felt really fresh.

I'm amazed they can make bakery items this delicious. Next time I visit with my friend, I'll definitely be ordering the bakery items again!!

I officially declare Caffeine Focus, the big Haenggung-dong café with a Hwaseong Fortress view, a must-visit Haenggung-dong bakery spot.
