Songni-dan-gil roastery café for laptop work in Seoul: Sese Coffee

On a weekday, I suddenly had time to kill before a lunch appointment. It felt like a waste to just duck into any random café at a time like this. Wandering around nearby, I stumbled on Sese Coffee (세세커피)! The blue-striped awning with the Sese Coffee sign was just too cute. Here's my review after bringing my laptop and thoroughly enjoying myself.

Let's hop right in! Sese Coffee is located on Songni-dan-gil. The tables toward the back felt quiet and cozy, perfect for remote work.

What's on the Sese Coffee menu?

The menu at Sese Coffee had quite a variety, from sweet and non-sweet coffees to teas and desserts. A kraft-paper menu was spread out on the table, and the design alone was full of atmosphere —

Even coming alone, it was a happy dilemma trying to pick what to order!.! They even had the Wi-Fi password written right there! I ordered dessert and coffee.

The owner here is really passionate about coffee — on one side, bean bags and drip bags were neatly displayed, each carefully labeled with its single origin.

Two kinds of pound cake at Sese Coffee — how do they taste?

They told me I had to try the hazelnut vanilla pound cake and the orange pound cake at Sese Coffee, so I picked those two ><

Ta-dah — total mood. I got to enjoy a cup of coffee and some peace while editing my YouTube video. . . happiness. The two mini pound cakes I ordered — aren't they adorable just from the look of them? They're also really thick and generously sized (very good value here).

But seriously, why is this pound cake so good??? Is the owner a bread master??? I cut off a bite with my fork and it was moist with a strong butter aroma spreading through — I really want to strongly recommend you try this. I loved both of them ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Why Sese Coffee works for laptop work: an outlet at every seat

The generous portions extended to the coffee too — it was seriously huge. Almost bowl-sized? I'm not sure how many milliliters it was, but I loved how big it was haha. And there are outlets at every seat! I usually only go to Starbucks when I need to work (because of the outlets), so having a café like this nearby made me so happy ㅠㅠ.

It was a great space to work quietly in — even though there were a lot of people inside (a mix of solo visitors and groups of 2-3), it never felt cramped or noisy :) Plus, looking around, there were little decorative items placed everywhere, and you could tell real care went into every single one, which also made it a great spot for photos. Pictures come out really well here too.

The table layout at Sese Coffee was great — with a bar table, window seats, and wall seats all set up in variety, I liked that you didn't have to sit packed in close together!

Looking around, there was also a rack displaying the coffee beans, and peeking toward the bar, the espresso machine and plants blended together nicely.

I also snapped a shot of the café reflected in a mirror. It made the space look bigger, and it was pretty too.

Look at this space so full of atmosphere :) The kind of vibe that feels straight out of a magazine.

There's a bar table too, so it seems like a great spot to come alone for a coffee, and the view toward the back of the store was really pretty. The lighting and plant placement were adorable, and this bar counter was so cute ㅠㅠ

There's a good variety of seating too, from single seats up to tables for 2-3 people.

Having that unexpected free time actually turned out to be totally lucky. Thanks to an owner who's serious about both coffee and dessert, I got to properly enjoy a relaxed weekday afternoon. If you're ever passing by Songni-dan-gil, definitely stop by Sese Coffee.
