What the self-serve all-you-can-eat bar holds

The meat corner at Muhan Paldo Daepae Jamsilsaenae Branch had Korean native pork, shaved beef brisket, shaved pork neck, shaved pork belly, flower pork belly, and frozen pork belly.

There were also plenty of side dishes to pick from to go with the meat: red chard, perilla leaves, onion, garlic, chili peppers, seasoned scallion, kimchi, bracken fern, bean sprouts, ham, pickled radish, mushrooms, tofu, and rice cakes.

The 8 regional Paldo sauces

These are sauces representing all 8 regions of Korea (paldo). From the signature soy sauce to cheonggukjang (fermented soybean paste), makjang (blended soybean-chili paste), mustard, gochujang (red chili paste), salted shrimp, perilla oil soy sauce, and salted anchovy — you could scoop whatever suited your taste and enjoy it with the meat!

Ramen was also all-you-can-eat, and there were plenty of varieties to choose from according to your taste!

Best of the 6 cuts: beef brisket and shaved pork belly

At Muhan Paldo Daepae, you serve yourself from the very start, so here's a shot of me piling up whatever I liked. Meat plus bracken fern, bean sprouts, kimchi, garlic, onion, mushrooms, and more all go on the grill together!!

After trying every type of meat, my recommendation would be the beef brisket and the shaved pork belly! Everything was savory and delicious, but the brisket and shaved pork definitely cooked faster, weren't tough, and had no dryness — genuinely tasty.

How do you cook the Yeul Ramyun spicy ramen at your table?

Next, since I wanted to enjoy some ramen along with the meat, I came over to the ramen corner. There were so many kinds it was hard to decide!! After much deliberation, I picked the spicy Yeul Ramen.

Yeul Ramen cooked in a dedicated container

Just like the Han River-style ramen machines, you put the noodles, soup base, and dried toppings into the dedicated container, press start, and the right amount of water pours in and cooks it all for you — super convenient haha.

What do you think? Looks delicious, right?

Cheonggukjang bibimbap vs gochujang bibimbap

Everyone loves fried rice after grilled meat, right? So I tried the meat bibimbap you can only get specially at Muhan Paldo Daepae! On the left is bibimbap with cheonggukjang mixed in, and on the right is bibimbap with gochujang.

Two bowls of meat bibimbap made with cheonggukjang and gochujang

Add meat, kimchi, bean sprouts, seaweed flakes and whatever else you like, snip it all with scissors, mix it up, and you've got a delicious bibimbap!! What's great is that you control both the ingredients and the sauce to your taste, adjusting the seasoning yourself — perfect as a dessert after the meat.

We finished off with a cool cup of slush to cleanse our palates haha. Such a filling and satisfying meal!
