Weekend buckwheat galette brunch and chicken Caesar salad: Le Bon
In short
Le Bon Goûter is a French-style buckwheat galette brunch café near Dosan Park, a 7-minute walk from Apgujeong Rodeo Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Visited on a weekend afternoon at 3pm, the jambon galette with soft-boiled egg had a tortilla-like texture that felt light on the stomach, alongside a chicken Caesar salad and an Americano. The chicken Caesar salad, seemingly made with thigh meat, was tender enough to order again.

A place I visited because I was curious what a galette even is
The fact that it was a buckwheat galette made me even more curious. Looking it up, a galette is a savory buckwheat crepe that originated in Brittany, France, filled with savory (not sweet) ingredients. So it wasn't a thin dessert-style crepe — it was closer to an actual brunch dish.

This place has a reputation as a Sinsa-Apgujeong brunch spot, so I went with high expectations. That day I'd been running around near Sinsa Station for wedding planner consultations, and my legs were aching and I was a little worn out — I wanted a brunch to recharge. Here's my honest review of Le Bon Goûter, a Sinsa-Apgujeong date-spot café.

The mood and seating on a weekend at 3pm
I visited around 3pm on a weekend — an awkward time, too late for lunch and too early for dinner — but people kept streaming in anyway.

What I liked best was the comfortable seating layout and interior. There's a window-facing terrace where you can eat while looking outside, and a separate indoor table section for relaxing comfortably.

Thanks to this variety of seating, I thought it would work well both for lively group gatherings like wedding-invitation meetups, and for a quiet, face-to-face Sinsa Station date.

My legs were sore that day so I sat at an indoor table, but normally I would have preferred the window seats looking outside.

Potted plants and flower decorations were placed throughout, giving off that relaxed, comfortable atmosphere unique to French brunch cafés — and even with a lot of people around, it wasn't too loud, so it was a good environment for conversation.
The taste and texture of the buckwheat galette

Inside the galette was a soft-boiled egg, which gave it that genuine brunch feel — and it tasted much better than I expected.

The texture of the galette was less like a crispy crepe and more like a slightly thick tortilla — think of it as a tortilla grilled with buckwheat and it makes sense.
Probably because it's made with buckwheat, my stomach felt noticeably light after eating, which was impressive too.

The Americano was also richer than expected with little acidity, which paired well with the brunch.

The chicken Caesar salad is the real weapon
The chicken Caesar salad was this place's real weapon — it seemed to use thigh meat rather than breast meat, thick enough but soft, with a texture that just melted in the mouth.
Overall verdict and reservation tips for Le Bon Goûter
I went because I was curious about the galette, but ended up satisfied across the board — the menu lineup, the seating, the service.

The light, easy-on-the-stomach texture of the buckwheat galette combined with the savory jambon and soft egg is the kind of flavor that keeps coming back to mind. The chicken Caesar salad was memorable enough that I'd order it again on a return visit. With such varied seating, I think this is a brunch café that works well both for group gatherings and for a Sinsa Station date.

There can be a wait, so I'd recommend making a reservation before visiting. For anyone looking for a Sinsa-Apgujeong brunch spot, I can confidently recommend this one.
