What I ordered

Le Bon Goûter is a brunch café known for its healthy, nutty buckwheat galette (savory crepe), lasagna aged for a day, and pasta made with house-made sauce. Everything looked delicious, so after some deliberation I ordered the mushroom sauté galette and burrata cheese with an added focaccia slice, plus an iced americano and peppermint leaves to drink.

Iced americano and peppermint leaves

Risart-bean iced americano and peppermint leaves

The drinks arrived first and stood out visually right away. The iced americano in particular, made with beans from Risart — a café famous for its coffee — had a clean yet deep flavor that paired beautifully with the brunch.

The peppermint leaves were fragrant through and through :)

Drinks and brunch setting on the table

When the main dishes appeared shortly after, the plating alone was gorgeous!

Plated burrata cheese dish

Adding the focaccia slice to the burrata cheese was the master stroke

Burrata cheese — burrata, tomato, shine muscat grapes, arugula, cashews, pepper, EVOO

Cutting into the burrata with a knife released layer after layer of moist, creamy milky flavor, perfectly balanced by tangy tomato, sweet shine muscat, and slightly bitter arugula.

The crunch of nutty cashews added texture, making it feel refined without being overpowering — a textbook example of understated luxury.

Added focaccia slice with burrata cheese

Adding the focaccia slice in particular was a stroke of genius. Piled high with cheese, fruit, and arugula on soft, plainly baked focaccia bread, it was such a perfect match that I kept reaching for more. The ingredients worked so well together it was almost addictive!

Buckwheat-crust mushroom sauté galette

The taste of the mushroom sauté galette

Mushroom sauté galette — mushrooms, arugula, fried egg, béchamel sauce, Grana Padano cheese, mozzarella cheese, EVOO

The mushroom sauté galette had a healthy buckwheat crust piled high with butter-soaked mushrooms and fresh arugula, delivering a nutty, clean flavor that got better with every bite.

Cross-section of the galette topped with fried egg

The harmony between the fried egg, béchamel sauce, and cheeses was excellent, filling the mouth with rich flavor.

Brunch table with galette and coffee together

Visually delightful, wonderful flavors, and perfect Risart coffee — this place had it all! If you want to enjoy a relaxed moment on the terrace in Apgujeong during this fresh autumn weather, be sure to visit Le Bon Goûter :)
