Daegu Palgongsan drive food stop with parking: Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap
In short
Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap is a ssambap (Korean wrap rice) restaurant on Seochon-ro in Dong-gu, Daegu, on the Palgongsan drive route. The set ordered here was bulgogi + grilled mackerel + hot-stone rice + ureong ssamjang (freshwater snail wrap sauce), with lettuce, chicory, mustard greens, wrap cabbage and kale taken from the self-serve greens corner by the entrance, and the building has its own parking spaces out front. For a filling, non-greasy meal on a Palgongsan outing, Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap is a good fit.

A filling meal on the Palgongsan drive: Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap
If you're looking for a Palgongsan restaurant in Daegu, listen up 👀 I was driving around Palgongsan and wanted something hearty and healthy instead of something greasy, so I stopped by this place :) Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap!
If you drive toward Palgongsan, there's a stretch where a bunch of good restaurants cluster together, and Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap is right in that area.

Above all, what I loved was the parking!

Is there parking? Dedicated spaces in front of the building
Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap has its own dedicated parking space right in front of the building, so even coming by car for a Palgongsan outing, I could park without any worry. When you're getting around Palgongsan mostly by car, whether there's parking really matters haha.

Inside Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap: room and seating
Going inside, the place was bigger and cleaner than I expected. There was plenty of room between tables, and a lot of families were there too. It seemed like a good spot to bring your parents for lunch on a Palgongsan drive :)
And here's the part I liked best!

What's in the self-serve wrap greens corner
It's the variety of wrap greens 🌱 Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap has a separate self-serve wrap greens corner by the entrance, so you can grab whatever vegetables you want yourself. Lettuce, chicory, mustard greens, wrap cabbage, kale — there's quite a range, and anyone who loves ssam (wrapped bites) will really love it hahaha.
I usually eat a lot of wraps when I have meat, so a place like this gets me weirdly excited 🤭 I picked out a bunch of different greens and brought back a full plate.
The order: bulgogi, mackerel, hot-stone rice and ureong ssamjang
What we ordered was

- ✔️ Bulgogi + mackerel + hot-stone rice + ureong ssamjang
- ✔️ Basic side dishes

It's a menu where you get to eat bulgogi and mackerel together, so it's perfect for anyone who wants to try a bunch of things.

After a short wait, the side dishes and main dishes were laid out all at once — wow, the table was completely full, and just looking at it felt filling hahaha.

From the neatly arranged side dishes to the bulgogi, mackerel, ureong ssamjang, and hot-stone rice, it really felt like a full spread.
Bulgogi with ureong ssamjang (snail wrap sauce)
I tried the bulgogi first — there was a mild smoky char and the sweet-savory sauce was well soaked in, so it went great with rice.

Especially when you put a piece of bulgogi on a wrap green and pile on plenty of ureong ssamjang — ah, that's what ssambap is all about hahaha. The ureong ssamjang has snails in it, so it has more texture than regular ssamjang and is savory and salty, pairing really well with the wraps.

Put bulgogi on lettuce, add a piece of garlic, and pile on plenty of ureong ssamjang! Take a big bite and you can finish a bowl of rice in no time 😋
The grilled mackerel
The mackerel came out too, grilled to a nice golden brown — pick the flesh off and eat it with rice, and it's delicious too.

If it were just bulgogi, it might feel a little lacking, but with the mackerel added, the menu composition felt full and satisfying.
Hot-stone rice and sungnyung (toasted rice tea) to finish
And of course, a wrap restaurant can't be without hot-stone rice!

The rice comes out piping hot, so it's great with meat or fish on top, and at the end you can pour water in for sungnyung (scorched rice tea), which made for a proper finish to the meal haha.

Is Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap worth a stop on a Palgongsan day out?
Even someone who doesn't usually eat vegetables would naturally end up eating a bunch when there's this much wrap greens prepared. Going café-hopping on a Palgongsan drive is nice, but having a solid Korean meal like this first and then hitting a nearby café isn't bad either ☕️
Especially if you're wondering what to eat on a Palgongsan outing with your parents, a menu like ureong ssambap that isn't too spicy or strong and lets you eat plenty of vegetables would be perfect.

Overall, the food was generous and being able to eat as many wrap greens as you wanted was what I liked most about Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap!

If you're looking for a healthy, filling meal at Palgongsan, give it a try :) For me, the bulgogi + ureong ssamjang wrap combo was the tastiest haha.

Recommended for when you're on a Palgongsan drive and want a proper meal 🤍
