Tiled-roof Sinsa Chinese restaurant with yuja yogurt dessert: Samsin

In short

Samsin Garosu-gil is a fusion Chinese restaurant near Sinsa Station and the Garosu-gil main street in Gangnam, Seoul, mixing Korean, Chinese and Japanese touches. Behind the tiled roof exterior there is valet parking, and a meal in the curved sofa seats of the second-floor hall started with welcome gongalppang (hollow sesame bread) and ran through galbijjim jjajangmyeon (braised short rib black bean noodles, 25,000 won), small Tokyo tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork, 20,000 won) and Donghae-an haemul jjamppong (East Coast spicy seafood noodle soup, 13,000 won), ending with yuja yogurt. With private rooms inside as well, Samsin Garosu-gil suits a Sinsa-dong date and a family gathering equally.

Today I'm introducing a place where Korean, Chinese and Japanese sensibilities come together beautifully — Samsin Garosu-gil, a Sinsa Station favorite. It's right near Sinsa Station and the Garosu-gil main street, so accessibility is really excellent for this Sinsa Station Chinese restaurant.

Tiled roof exterior and valet parking at Samsin Garosu-gil

The moment I arrived in front of Samsin Garosu-gil, what caught my eye first was the grand, stylish tiled-roof exterior of the building. With the soft lighting added on top, I felt like I was being treated to something special before I'd even stepped inside.

Especially around Garosu-gil and Sinsa-dong, parking can be a real headache if you drive, right? Samsin Garosu-gil offers valet parking, so you can visit with zero parking worries — that's a huge advantage.

Second-floor sofa seats and the private room

Private room space for group gatherings

Samsin Garosu-gil is split into a first and second floor, and I was guided up to the second floor. The second-floor hall stood out with its sleek, curved sofa seating and calm, sophisticated interior.

Further inside, there's also a private room space that's perfect for group gatherings, company dinners, or family banquets. The whole atmosphere is upscale and tidy, making it a great fit for a Sinsa-dong date course or a private gathering at this Sinsa Station Chinese restaurant.

Ornate tableware and the welcome gongalppang

Table setting with golden cutlery set and patterned plates

The first thing that caught my eye after sitting down was the elegant, intricately detailed tableware. Thanks to the golden cutlery set and the plates engraved with beautiful patterns, I felt like I'd stepped into a fine hotel restaurant.

As soon as we sat down, they brought out warm gongalppang as welcome food! I broke it open by hand and tried it — the crispy texture with that faint hint of sweetness was so good, it was the perfect way to whet the appetite before the meal.

What we ordered: galbijjim jjajangmyeon, Tokyo tangsuyuk, haemul jjamppong

A glass of Tsingtao beer served with the meal

What's a delicious fusion Chinese meal without a cold beer! We started off in good spirits with a glass of Tsingtao beer. By the way, the staff here were really kind, explaining every dish and taking great care of us — it made the whole meal feel really pleasant.

Fusion Chinese dishes laid out on the table

The first dish we tried was the ganbijjim jjajangmyeon. It grabs your attention visually right away — generously loaded with big, tender braised short ribs. The pairing of soft rib meat with the black bean sauce that clings perfectly to your palate is on another level, and you could really feel why this place is a standout Sinsa Station favorite. The portion was hugely generous too.

Small Tokyo tangsuyuk served in a stone pot

Next up was the small Tokyo tangsuyuk. It comes out in a heated stone pot, and the moment the staff pours the sauce over it, it sizzles away deliciously! Tokyo tangsuyuk is characteristically served poured-over style — even though the sauce soaks in deeply, that signature crispiness holds all the way to the last bite. The texture was pure art.

The last main dish was the Donghae-an haemul jjamppong. I was surprised to see the bowl practically overflowing with fresh seafood. The broth made from chunky, fresh abalone, squid, and various seafood was spicy yet clean enough to hit the spot completely.

Overall, the portions were incredibly generous and satisfying, to the point where I thought, 'this quality at this price!' — a Garosu-gil Chinese restaurant with really high value for money.

Yuja yogurt dessert and the verdict on Samsin Garosu-gil

Yuja-scented yogurt served for dessert

After eating our fill of delicious dishes, they brought out yogurt for dessert. The refreshing, sweet yuja (citron) aroma washed away the oiliness typical of Chinese food, letting us finish the meal on a really clean note.

  • Location & convenience: near Sinsa Station and Garosu-gil, with convenient valet parking.
  • Atmosphere & service: private room available, hotel-style attentive service, elegant and tidy tableware setting.
  • Taste & value: from the welcome gongalppang through the mains to the yuja yogurt dessert, a generous and polished fusion Chinese meal.
  • Recommended for: couples looking for a Sinsa-dong date course, and anyone wanting a clean private room for a company dinner or family gathering!
