Kalguksu for 47 years, whew. I’m already excited to see just how tasty it’ll be lol.

I came at a pretty early hour, but there were already loads of customers. Truly great restaurants don’t care what time it is lol. The tables are nicely spaced, and I loved how airy and clean the interior was!

There’s a neatly kept self-service bar too. It has wet wipes, paper cups, tableware, and unlimited rice. Since rice refills are unlimited, you can absolutely drag all your big-eater friends here. Kalguksu + rice stirred into the soup = one very substantial meal, which I loved!

Once seated, I read the guide on how to enjoy it deliciously,,, more diligently than a college textbook lol. It’s already delicious, so how could I possibly make it even better,, 💚

The spoons and chopsticks come neatly wrapped too (I loved that everything is managed hygienically). Soy sauce, chili powder, pepper, and dadaegi spicy seasoning are all set out tidily as well (not “bitch,” lol).

Gangnam Gyoja menu and prices

Meals are ₩10,000–₩13,000, so the value is great too! Beyond kalguksu, there are plenty of options, including sujebi hand-torn dough soup, bibimbap, dakgaejang chicken soup, seolleongtang ox-bone soup, rice-cake dumpling soup, kongguksu cold soy-milk noodles, and chogye-guksu chilled chicken noodles. The value is so good that it’s nice to order a variety and try things. It’s great for eating alone, family meals, all kinds of gatherings, or even a date!

Kalguksu in beef-bone broth

This is the kalguksu (₩10,000)! Lots of meat topping~ lots of gyoja dumplings~ lots of knife-cut noodles~~ It’s such a generous meal. The beef-bone broth is rich, savory, and clean all at once—BOMB 💣💥 The noodles were smooth and tender, so every slurp went down unbelievably softly.

Spicy kalguksu with a beef-bone broth base

This is the spicy kalguksu (₩10,000)! Lots of meat topping~ lots of gyoja dumplings~ lots of knife-cut noodles~~ This one is another generous meal. It feels richer than the regular kalguksu. Rather than aggressively spicy, it has spice built on beef-bone broth, so even people who are weak with heat can enjoy it!

Juicy gyoja dumplings

These are the gyoja dumplings (₩11,000)! The wrappers are chewy and the filling bursts with juices. They’re packed with meat! Dip them in soy sauce and they disappear in seconds,, 🤤💛 Kalguksu + dumplings is a combination you can always trust, haha. One bite of noodles + one bite of dumpling, waaah 🤤

The full spread,, 🧡 The fresh geotjeori kimchi is SO delicious here!!!! If a kalguksu place has bad fresh kimchi, that’s honestly embarrassing,,, Have it alongside the noodles and it goes down so easily,,ㅠㅠㅠ The broth was so good that I wanted to stir rice into it, but the portions were so huge that I spectacularly failed,,^^! Big eaters will love this place too,,🧡

They also have floss, toothpicks, mint candies, and fabric deodorizer, so it’s great for wrapping things up neatly,,💛 Owner, how far does your sense go, seriously lol.
