Custom hydration facial for redness in Seongnam: Stern Clinic

Maybe it is because fall is here, but I have been worrying about my skin’s moisture lately. After cleansing, that deep tight feeling has been especially bad, so I started wondering if my skin was lacking moisture,,

I also tend to flush easily because of facial redness, so when getting skin care, I wanted something suited to my skin right now rather than just any treatment. So this time, I visited the slightly special skin care clinic Stern Clinic near Sunae!

Rather than starting treatment immediately like a typical shop, they check your skin concerns before the appointment, then use everything from a 3D scanner to UV light on the day to examine your current skin condition closely and provide the care you need based on the results~

Stern Clinic is on the fourth floor of Donghyeon Plaza, about 250 m from Sunae Station on the Suin–Bundang Line, and the parking lot had plenty of room. There is mechanical parking too, so if the underground lot is full, you can use that instead—such a relief to have ample parking. It is close to Sunae Station and easy to find, whether you come by public transit or car.

A luxurious interior from the information desk onward

The first thing I thought as I walked in was, “Wow... this place is really huge!” They use the entire fourth floor of the building.

It is quite large overall, and the information desk you see as soon as you step out of the elevator already gives off such a luxurious atmosphere,,,, I went expecting an ordinary skin care shop and was a liiittle surprised by how much more luxurious it felt, hahaha.

While waiting, I looked over the head director’s career history and noticed how consistently they had built experience related to skin. It made me even more excited for the treatment, haha.

There were several consultation rooms inside too, and each one had floor-to-ceiling glass, which made them feel wonderfully open~ My first impression of the clinic was memorable,, (●'◡'●)

Since I arrived wearing makeup, I was first shown to wash my face before the treatment~ But even the cleansing products felt a little special! They had Stern products prepared, and I was told they are from Germany, haha.

I tried the cleansing milk and cleansing foam myself, and both felt very gentle, which I loved...! I also tried the toner; it was fragrance-free and felt moisturizing, so I liked that too~ It felt as though they were trying to reduce stress on the skin right from cleansing, so my anticipation quietly went up before the main treatment, lol!!

After cleansing came the most fascinating step before my Stern Clinic treatment: a second facial 3D scan,, They take the scan to examine your current skin condition in more detail and determine which care should take priority! Seeing different areas checked with equipment rather than simply looking at my skin really did feel professional~

After the scan, I went into the director’s office and we looked closely at my skin condition together on the monitor. The first thing they mentioned from the results was a lack of moistureㅠ_ㅠ hahaha.

I have concerns about atopic skin around my eyes, so I tend to have somewhat pronounced fine lines there already. They said that overall I was closer to dry skin with a significant lack of moisture. Of course, skin cannot be neatly divided into just one type, but the area around my eyes in particular was very dehydrated,,,

My skin had felt tight after cleansing, but once I confirmed that it really had less moisture than usual, I understood why I had kept feeling every morning that my skin looked dull and rough, lol.

So the director decided that Deep Hydration care would be best. They did not just carry out a fixed treatment; they looked at my current skin condition and chose the care I needed after checking it, which really increased my trust,,, haha.

How the Deep Hydration treatment went

Now it was time to head into a private care room for the actual treatment! The care space was quiet and cozy, with classical music playing, which I loved. After changing into treatment clothes and waiting a moment, the manager in charge of my care that day came in~

Instead of beginning right away, they first used a UV monitor to closely check localized areas of my skin once more,,,, The therapist explained while looking at the monitor that the red areas showed where sebum was congestedㅠ And if that congested sebum oxidizes, it can become the blackheads we all knowㅠㅠ.

So that day, while caring for my skin’s moisture, they would gently dissolve sebum in the areas with more developed sebaceous glands while minimizing irritation and replenishing hydration at the same time~ I liked that they did not treat every part of the face the same way, but assessed things such as sebaceous glands in each area and tailored the care accordingly.

First, they applied a fragrance-free first gel all over my face, then placed a device over it. I was told this device emits wavelengths as a preparation step so the skin care products can absorb well into the skin. Then they blew oxygen air onto my face and applied a second gel once again!

Then the device-based care really began! When I mentioned that my face flushes easily because of facial redness, they used a device for the areas that looked red.

They said this device is good for people whose skin has a certain level of resilience, and in reality it was not painful or stinging at all. I just lay back comfortably and felt the warm device gliding over my skin, which was so nice,,,, Next, they lightly wiped away the gel and used a hydrating ampoule to replenish moisture! It was blue-tinted, and I could feel the hydration as soon as it went on!

And they did not simply apply it and stop—they used a device to help the ampoule absorb into my skin. It had a little more vibration than a typical device as it moved, but it was not painful or uncomfortable; it just felt like a gentle massage over the skin~ I could receive it comfortably without needing to tense up, haha.

The next step was an internal and external dehydration-relief moisturizing process. It was finely misted like a spray, and it felt like a light misty rain on my face, which was so lovely too, lol. As the moist droplets lightly touched my face, it felt as if my skin was gradually filling with hydration! Steam care followed as well; a calming light came on alongside the step that brought moisture to the skin’s surface, and I almost fell asleep, hahaha.

Finally, they finished by applying cream~ I liked that the creams they used focused on replenishing moisture rather than irritating the skin,, hehe. And that was not the end! They portioned out the creams they had used so I could keep caring for my skin at home.

I am still applying them every day now, and I love that when I wake up, my skin still feels smooth and moisturized. It does not pill under makeup either, so I have been using it well before putting on makeup 💧
