Today I'm sharing my visit to Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch, a great spot to hit when you're craving good meat near Suwon Station!

Lately, whenever I meet friends near Suwon Station, picking where to eat is oddly stressful! This time we all agreed on meat, so we headed to Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch. Meat is always delicious no matter when you eat it, right? And when you go with a group, you get to order a bunch of different cuts and share them, which makes it even better.
A good pick when you're craving meat near Suwon Station — but what about parking?
Parking near Suwon Station is honestly rough. Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch helps with that though.

It was nice that stopping by here also gets you parking support. When you pay, just be sure to tell the counter your license plate number and they'll register 2 hours of parking for you! The restaurant is a super close 1-2 minute walk from there too.
A spacious hall, great for group gatherings

With a spacious hall and lots of large-party tables, this seems like a great choice if you're looking for a Suwon BBQ restaurant for a group visit. The place felt really clean and pleasant too!
The meaning behind Ssosam 208 and the fascinating grill

'Ssosam' is a word people use a lot — it means soju plus pork belly (samgyeopsal). But I was curious what 208 meant, and it turns out it's the temperature of the grill. They check the temperature on that fascinating volcano stone grill before laying the meat on — I honestly wanted that stone plate for myself lol.
Ssosam 208's menu lineup

Ssosam 208, a Suwon BBQ restaurant, has well-organized set menus, and you can add lava fondue cheese into the round crater on the grill to dip your meat into. The side dishes and rice/soup dishes were solid too!

What we ordered that day
- Mixed stone plate (medium)
- Pork belly 160g
- Beef brisket doenjang stew
- Lava fondue cheese (review event)
- Basalt snow kimchi fried rice

The basic table setting comes with green onion salad and mountain garlic (myeongi) namul that pair well with meat, plus a variety of sauces.

Before the meat arrived, they brought out rice noodle soup (kalguksu-style noodles). The broth was piping hot and there was a generous amount of noodles — perfect for whetting the appetite.
Gorgeous-looking meat and table-side grilling service

After checking the grill's temperature with a thermometer, they laid the meat on. The visual with cheese in the crater was insane. The mixed stone plate comes with pork belly 250g + pork neck 150g + thousand-layer belly 100g.
Just look at the color on that meat T_T It's totally mouthwatering. Being a mixed platter meant we got to try several cuts, which was such a plus, and since I'm terrible at grilling meat myself, having staff grill it for us was amazing. It let us focus more on chatting — this really is a great Suwon BBQ spot for that.
Lava cheese fondue: gorgeous looks and even better taste

I tried enjoying it the way Ssosam 208 recommends. The lava cheese fondue was totally my style — it had a rich, almost cheese-tteokbokki-sauce kind of feel. The spicy cheese sauce paired with the meat way better than I expected. I really recommend adding it on!

The various sauces that came with it also went really well with the meat, so it was fun dipping into a different one each time lol. My partner and I basically ate in silence, just focused on the food.

The ₩3,000 beef brisket doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) was packed with ingredients — insane amount for the price. Loaded with meat and tofu, it's a must-order. And after all that meat, you can't skip the K-dessert finish — basalt snow kimchi fried rice wraps things up perfectly!! You'll definitely walk out saying that was so good lol.
Reservation tip
If you book Ssosam 208, a Suwon BBQ restaurant, through Naver Reservation before visiting, you can use coupons. Also — that lava cheese fondue I recommended can be gotten through a Naver review event.
These days, when looking for a good restaurant, it's not just about taste but also accessibility, atmosphere, and whether it's good for visiting with others, right? On that front, if you're looking for a solid spot near Suwon Station whenever you're craving meat, I'd recommend Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch. We had a relaxed, enjoyable time chatting over delicious meat.
