Pohang restaurant for mushroom pesto cream risotto: Plan A Restaurant
In short
Plan A Restaurant is an ocean-view Western restaurant on the 4th floor of a building facing Songdo Beach in Pohang. Three diners ordered the Plan A chop steak 240g, truffle aglio olio, and mushroom basil pesto cream risotto, and the chop steak came in a generous portion with crispy fries on the side. For pasta with a sea view in Pohang, Plan A Restaurant is a solid pick.

As you can see on the map, Plan A Restaurant sits right in front of Songdo Beach — a pasta spot with an ocean view! It reportedly first opened back in November 2015. Been around a while? That checks off one basic requirement of a good restaurant, haha. There's also plenty of parking, so you don't need to worry about that.
Is the 4th-floor restaurant easy to find? Outside and inside
The outside of the shop

Since Plan A Restaurant is on the 4th floor, you might think it would be hard to find, but there's a sign guiding you, so it wasn't difficult at all.

Sometimes you have to walk up to the 4th floor at restaurants like this, but Plan A Restaurant has an elevator! We could go up comfortably, haha.

The inside of the shop

True to an ocean-view restaurant, the interior had wide-open windows that felt really refreshing.
And the overall wood-tone decor gave off a cozy, comfortable feeling, haha.
Plan A Restaurant menu and the review event side dish
The menu had everything from steak to pasta, pilaf, salad, and various side dishes! And the prices were really reasonable!

They're also running a review event — if you take part, you get to choose one side dish from black sesame fried chicken, spicy pepper fried chicken, or king prawn fritters!
What three people ordered: an honest review

Plan A chop steak 240g with fries
There were three of us eating, and we thought about ordering a side salad, but we wanted to eat a bit more meat, and once we saw that the chop steak came with fries and salad on the side, we decided to order the Plan A chop steak 240g.

Before ordering I worried it might be too small a portion, but it turned out to be really generous! The meat wasn't tough at all — it was tender, and it came already cut into bite-sized pieces, so we didn't need to cut it ourselves. And the fries were so crispy... it had that Mom Touch fried chicken chain vibe! Personally I loved it, haha.

Truffle aglio olio
Being a popular Western restaurant, there was a wide variety of pasta, and looking at reviews, a lot of people recommended the truffle aglio olio. So we ordered that too!

An oil pasta with garlic and tomato! There was even a subtle truffle aroma that made the flavor stand out even more. It could have been a bit rich, but there was some spiciness in there too that cut right through the richness! As you can see in the last photo... we scraped up every bit of sauce, haha. I get why everyone orders this one...

Mushroom basil pesto cream risotto
I'm personally not a huge fan of basil, but the basil pesto sauce here was genuinely delicious!

The basil aroma blended together with the mushroom, so I could eat it without any hesitation, haha.
We cleaned the plate right to the end... it was really, really good.

If you want a date by the sea in Pohang, I recommend Plan A Restaurant!
