Full-on patio season 🔥🔥 Yeoido actually has quite a few hidden outdoor-seating spots, you know? I found a pork belly place in the perfect location for a second round 🤭
Smile Samgyeop Main Branch

Where is Smile Samgyeop Main Branch in Yeoido?
They've got up to a third branch in Yeoido — a real #YeouidoStation restaurant. It's close to Yeouido Station and walkable from Saetgang Station too. If you've been to Yeoido you can't miss it — it's in the alley behind Lotte Castle, perfect for a spontaneous after-work hangout 〰️〰️

Outdoor patio seating that works best in autumn
I fell for the outdoor seating right away 🤭 Definitely book ahead and enjoy the fall weather!

Inside there's a 1st and 2nd floor — we ate on the 2nd floor, and it was so cozy and nice 😌😌 Feels perfect for a private company dinner. They said group reservations for 30–40 people are also possible. Apparently this is even where Park Bo-gum came for an after-party once… that place… 🤍

What we ordered: kimchi minari pork belly for three and soju
📍The menu📍 Minari pork belly is the most famous dish, but you can also get Korean beef here 🐂 The prices are super reasonable for Yeoido too, which I loved.
- Kimchi minari pork belly, 3 servings
- Soju, 1 bottle
Order complete 💟

Side dishes: whole kimchi, wrap vegetables, scallion salad with bean sprouts
They put out a whole, gorgeous-looking kimchi first. It was great eaten just as is. I can't live without kimchi 😂😂😂

The vegetables were super fresh too — passed with flying colors. You can't do without lettuce wraps, right? And they refill them generously 🫶

And the scallion shreds! There were bean sprouts mixed in too, so it was less spicy and had double the crunchy bite.

All three servings at once, grilled by the staff
They put all 3 servings on at once and I was so satisfied with that 🤭 Usually places split it into batches, but this way the flow never breaks — best. The staff grilled it start to finish, so, good good 〰️〰️ The meat was nice and thick too — doesn't that raw pork belly look perfect?👍

The kimchi stew comes free
I'm the type who absolutely needs a stew, and here the kimchi stew comes free....😎 A touching moment for the drinkers among us.

Even though it's complimentary, the meat and kimchi portions are super generous. And since this place is known for its kimchi, the stew can't not be good haha. Perfect to pair with the grilled meat ❤️

They grill the onions and mushrooms together too, and snip up the kimchi right there, so all you have to do is wait. The staff were so kind, I got to eat in a great mood 🤭

They cut it into easy bites and even removed all the bone-in bits. Such thoughtful attention to detail, I was touched 🥲

The highlight: a mountain of minari, refills included
For the final highlight they piled on the minari, and they gave... so much of it haha. And on top of that it's refillable — kind of amazing. If I ever want minari, I'm definitely coming here.

A mountain of minari ☘️☘️ You get to enjoy its fragrance alongside the meat until every last bite is gone — perfect. The visual alone is insane...!

Once it's cooked through perfectly, lay it on top of the minari. Golden-browned meat with green minari underneath — looks perfect too 👏👏👏

A bite of pork belly with lightly grilled minari〰️ The fragrance instantly cuts the greasiness of the pork belly ㅠ And you can't skip the good kimchi either.. so I eat it samhap-style (three ingredients together) 🤭 Sour kimchi grilled in the fat is never not delicious 🫶 Maybe because the meat quality is so good, the juices just burst out.

Can't leave out the soju. When I ordered it, the staff member pulled it out of the drinks fridge, tapped the bottom of the bottle a few times, and handed it over. Out of 100 points for thoughtfulness, that's 1000 🤭🤍

Is Smile Samgyeop good for a work dinner or a date?
My guest ate carefully down to the very last wrap. Yeoido has surprisingly few great pork belly spots, but this one's now on my list 〰️💟 A Yeouido Station restaurant that works for both a work dinner and a date. With such kind, cheerful owners and staff grilling everything up deliciously, you can visit with confidence 🤍
