Magok octopus restaurant with mild-spice bean sprout set: Jju Baksa
In short
Jju Baksa Magok Branch is a webfoot octopus (jjukkumi) restaurant near Exit 8 of Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station in Gangseo, Seoul. Two diners ordered the drink set — jjusamgyeop for two, a choice of steamed egg, a self-made rice ball, corn butter, flying fish roe and drinks — in mild spice, added bean sprouts, and picked the cheese steamed egg plus the special mayo sauce for the rice ball. Even Jju Baksa's mild level is about as spicy as Shin Ramyun, so the bean sprouts were the right call, and the 10,000 won lunch special is reason enough to return.

Today I'm back with another Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station food find. Whenever I'm stressed or craving something spicy, I think of chewy, springy jjuggumi (webfoot octopus). So this time I visited Jju Baksa Magok Branch, the octopus specialist everyone's been talking about near Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station!
Where is Jju Baksa Magok Branch, and what are its hours?
Jju Baksa Magok Branch is an octopus specialty restaurant near Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station Exit 8, open daily from 11:00 to 01:00. Takeout, delivery, and reservations are all available.
- Address: Near Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station Exit 8, Gangseo-gu, Seoul
- Features: Clean, pleasant interior, friendly service

It's right by Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station, so it's super easy to get to — perfect for a lunch stop, an after-work bite, or a weekend date.

With the cool weather these days, eating at the outdoor tables while looking out at the botanical garden would be lovely too.

Even on a weekend lunch, the place was packed. The interior stays clean, so we could eat comfortably in a nice atmosphere.
What comes in the drink set for two at Jju Baksa?
For two of us, we went with the 'drink set,' known for its generous portions. The spread was so plentiful that we gasped the moment it arrived!
- Drink set includes: jjusamgyeop for two + egg custard (choice of one) + self-made rice ball + corn butter + flying fish roe + drink

This is a killer-value combo, plenty for two people to eat until we're stuffed. Even the basic side dishes — the popping flying fish roe and savory corn butter — already earned top marks.
How spicy is Jju Baksa's mild level? Why add bean sprouts
Even ordered in mild spice, the jjusamgyeop at Jju Baksa Magok had a real kick. It landed right around the level of Shin Ramyun — deliciously spicy. The star ingredient, webfoot octopus, was genuinely fresh with an unusually springy texture. The portion was generous too, more than enough for two.

It's a pleasantly spicy flavor that keeps pulling you back in — kind of addictive. If you're someone who can't handle spicy food well, adding bean sprouts to stir-fry together is a great move!

The crunchy texture comes alive and the spiciness mellows out, making everything much smoother to enjoy!

Eating the savory pork belly together with the springy octopus makes the flavor even richer.

Wrapping jjusamgyeop with a bit of flying fish roe in a perilla leaf is absolutely amazing.

Even paired with the basic cheonsachae (seasoned glass noodle-style side) side dish, the spiciness mellows while the texture and sweetness pair beautifully ❣️

Picking between the chewy cheese rice cake and the plain rice cake added another fun layer of texture.
Cheese steamed egg and the self-made rice ball with special mayo sauce
For the set's choice menu, we picked the 'cheese egg custard,' and wow, it's a real showstopper! Piled high with mozzarella cheese, it's visually stunning right off the bat.

The egg custard itself is soft and perfectly seasoned, and alternating a bite of spicy octopus stir-fry with a bite of the smooth cheese custard is fantastic.

We had to order a rice dish too. We used all the flying fish roe that came with the set to make our own rice ball!

They provide Jju Baksa's own special mayo sauce, which is slightly sweet and savory — dipping the spicy octopus in it tames the heat perfectly. Try mixing a bit of this mayo sauce into your self-made rice ball! It doubles the umami and makes for a much tastier rice ball.
Final verdict and the 10,000 won lunch special at Jju Baksa
Between the generous portions, the sweet-and-spicy seasoning, and the springy texture, I fully understand why Jju Baksa Magok Branch is the recommended pick for jjuggumi near Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station. The set was so packed that the two of us ate until we were completely full.

Looking at the menu board, I noticed the lunch-only special is being sold at a killer price of ₩10,000 per person! At today's prices, that combination and flavor for ₩10,000 is genuinely insane value. Next time I'm definitely coming back for the lunch special.
If you're looking for a proper spicy octopus restaurant near Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station, definitely give Jju Baksa Magok Branch a try! You won't regret this meal. Highly recommend!
