Solo dining at Gangnam Station: nearly 10 visits to 1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli
I've been bouncing around Gangnam Station since I was 20 (not just 100 times... probably over 200... between meeting people for meals and taking English and Chinese classes near Gangnam Station over the years, that's probably 3 years' worth of time,,, and Gangnam Station is also the go-to spot for meeting friends, so I've ended up here constantly lol) so I've basically become a solo-dining master of Gangnam Station restaurants lol
Among them, the place I've visited close to 10 times is right here — 1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli Gangnam branch +_+ I love a full Korean table spread and I'm a pro solo diner, so in my search for somewhere I could eat alone comfortably, this became my regular spot!

What is the restaurant like inside, and can you bring a friend from abroad?
The interior of 1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli Gangnam Main Branch had a full-on Korean vibe~ Traditional patterns everywhere! And the BGM playing was gugak-style (traditional Korean music) too~ The concept is really on point ㅇㅇ
Maybe that's why I saw quite a few foreigners there? It's somewhere I'd love to bring a foreign friend if we came to Gangnam Station together! You get to eat Korean food with a strong Korean vibe, and the prices are reasonable too — with a lot of Korean food, dishes like soup or stew come out in one big bowl to share, but here everything comes as an individual set, which I think would actually be convenient if you're eating with a foreign friend!

The menu at 1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli and the 1-person meat set I chose
There are a lot of rice bowl (deopbap) options, plus bibimbap and stew dishes! Today I decided to try something I'd never had before~ Even writing this post, the spicy octopus (jjukkumi) rice bowl sounds tempting right now lol My mouth is watering,, uh oh, uh oh,,

And that was the 1-person meat set! You could choose from 3 types of meat, and I picked pork belly >_< For the base choice, you could pick either steamed egg or kimchi jjigae — I went with kimchi jjigae because I was craving something warm and soupy, and I chose the basic ssamjang and the basic rice too! I also got to try the steamed egg here, and it was soft, warm, and delicious too~!!
By the way, you order from the kiosk near the entrance, then find a seat and wait — they'll call your number and guide you~

How generous is the 1-person pork belly set?
Ta-da >_< Isn't the 1-person meat set I picked totally loaded? Hehe, I felt so happy the moment I got it~ The neat, tidy presentation is exactly my style! Soup, rice, side dishes, pork belly +_+

You could leave out the kkwari peppers (Korean shishito-style peppers) depending on preference! They're stir-fried with green onion, which cuts through the richness nicely~ There was a sausage topping too, so I got to enjoy stir-fried sausage alongside everything, hehe

Kimchi jjigae with grilled pork belly
Can't resist that hot red soup, ever~ Slurped down the kimchi jjigae too, and meat plus stew is just an unspoken rule, right! The tofu, yum, the kimchi, yum, eating it all up properly

Koreans run on rice, am I right! Gotta eat that Korean rice~

The three side dishes and the sauces
The trio of side dishes! For me, the dried radish (mumallaengi) paired especially well with the pork belly! Even though there's already kimchi jjigae, I still went for the kimchi side dish too — a true power Korean lol

The sesame dipping sauce and seasoned ssamjang for dipping the meat came sealed in little plastic pouches, so you squeeze them into a small container yourself and dip away~

And Chilsung Cider Zero to top it off! Pork belly needs a carbonated drink, no question — the unspoken rule combo, all eaten up today, hehe
Such a satisfying spread haha. Gangnam Station solo-dining restaurant, confirmed confirmed

Getting a canned drink from the Naver receipt review event
If you join the Naver receipt review event you can get various perks — I joined and chose a carbonated drink! Just show the staff your review and grab a can drink, haha. And out of the options, I went with Chilsung Cider Zero!
