Nowon hair salon for smooth medium-length layers: Yeum Hair

I have semi-wavy, medium-length hair, so styling it is always a concern—but this time I got volume straightening at Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch (예움헤어 노원구청점) :)

I was looking into hair salons near Nowon Station and kept hearing that Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch was skilled, so I booked a 10 a.m. appointment and visited.

The atmosphere at Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch near Nowon Station

I heard Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch opened last September. The facilities were clean overall, and the atmosphere was comfortable, which I really liked :)!

It is close to Exit 7 of Nowon Station on Line 7, so it was easy to find. When I entered, the warm wood-toned interior caught my eye, and with trees visible through the large second-floor windows, it felt like a little moment of healing in the city. Visiting in the morning made the relaxed atmosphere even nicer.

Consultation for semi-wavy medium-length hair and volume straightening

My hair is semi-wavy and fairly thick, and once it started reaching my shoulders, the ends kept flipping outward. With the characteristic frizz of semi-wavy hair on top of that, I wanted to turn the overall unkempt feeling into something neat and polished~

The stylist first checked my hair condition carefully, then kindly consulted with me about which design would suit me, taking my current length, face shape, and usual styling into account.

The refreshing shampoo and massage

I was also really happy with the shampoo. Two staff members shampooed my hair, and both had such careful hands.

The head massage in particular was truly the best! They pressed firmly in such a refreshing way that it felt like proper healing for the first time in a while. When even the massage during a salon shampoo is satisfying, it really puts you in a good mood, haha.

Tidying outward-flipping ends while keeping the layers natural

I wanted to keep the natural movement of a layered cut while smoothing the overall waves and frizz, and they captured exactly the look I wanted, so I was happy!

After the volume straightening, my whole head looked calmly smoothed out without feeling overly flat or pin-straight. The natural movement unique to a layered cut was still there too, making it look much lighter.

My hair is thick, so it could easily look heavy, but they connected the hair around my face and the ends naturally, making the overall silhouette prettier too. How the ends fall is especially important with medium-length hair, and once the pieces that had been flipping outward were neatly smoothed, the whole vibe definitely changed.

And there was something I thought was especially thoughtful at Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch: they gave me hand-care gloves infused with essence!

The gloves had openings for the thumb and index finger so I could use my phone even while doing hand care. I loved that kind of thoughtful consideration. Being able to use my phone comfortably while waiting felt so smart :)

If managing semi-wavy medium-length hair is a concern

If frizz and outward-flipping ends have been a concern because of your semi-wavy medium-length hair, I think it would be nice to ask about volume straightening and a layered cut together, like I did.

This visit to a hair salon near Nowon Station was even more satisfying because they carefully checked my hair condition first before planning the design.
