With a little time left between my son's school ending and his after-school class, I wanted to enjoy some rare downtime, so we went to Baedagol Bakery House!

It's a Goyang café I used to visit often, but I haven't had time lately. For once, before dropping my kid off at his academy, we went together to relax and eat something delicious.

Parking at Baedagol Bakery House and the 7pm 50% off bread

Baedagol Bakery House has a spacious parking lot, so you can drive there without worrying. Every day from 7pm, all bread is 50% off, so if you want to grab cheap bread, stopping by after 7pm is a good idea. That said, since it's such a popular bakery café, if you go too late most of the bread is already sold out and there's barely any variety left... just so you know!

Is Baedagol Bakery House comfortable with a child?

I've gotten into the fun of hunting down Goyang cafés I can visit with my kid one by one. When going out with a child, it matters that they don't get bored and can stay comfortably, but it's just as important that mom and dad — worn out from daily parenting and work — can also sit down, eat something cool and delicious, and quietly catch their breath.

Baedagol Bakery House is spacious and pleasant overall, and the atmosphere isn't cluttered, so I never felt self-conscious visiting with my kid — it's a place that really puts your mind at ease. There's also outdoor seating, so if you're worried about your child being loud, sitting outside seems to ease that concern quite a bit.

The showcase and what bread is left at 2pm

The baked goods are kept inside a case like this, which looks really hygienic and pretty. Some people are reluctant when bread is displayed too openly, but at Baedagol Bakery House you can enjoy the bread and drinks without that worry...

I got there right after my kid's school let out, so it was a little past 2pm. Even so, the bread had already sold out this much... sniff. Still, thankfully there were some things left that we could eat.

There's a wide variety of drinks — coffee, tea, bingsu (shaved ice dessert), ade, juice, and more — so it's a good place to order for a visit with kids.

We took a seat and ordered iced coffee for a cool drink and refreshing grapefruit ade, then brought over some appetizing bread. The visuals alone were flawless!!

Self-packing corner and free fan rental at Baedagol

There's a self-packing corner in case bread is left over, so you can wrap it up to take home. There's also an oven for warming bread and a water purifier set up there.

The iced coffee, packed with ice, wasn't too acidic and had a clean finish, making it a perfect match with the sweet baked goods. My child picked the grapefruit ade, which had a tingly, refreshing carbonation with plenty of sweet-tart grapefruit juice, and my kid loved it. There's also a free fan rental service, so if you still feel a bit hot even with the cooler weather these days, renting a fan could be nice.

How the mont blanc and basil tomato bread tasted

First, the mont blanc, striking even from the outside with its large, distinctive look, was fun to tear apart by hand following its layered texture. With a subtly rich butter aroma, crisp outside and moist inside, it completely won over my child's taste buds — he ate the most of this one.

And the basil tomato bread, which I'd been looking forward to since I already love it in general, had tomato and basil pairing so well together that it was an absolute hit for adult tastes. My kid and I split the delicious bread, sipped cool drinks, chatted, and had a truly healing time together.

There are baby chairs too, so it's satisfyingly kid-friendly, and the garden is beautifully arranged, making it a truly healing spot. If you're looking for a Goyang café, this is one I'd recommend.
