Once you get into escape rooms, you kind of want to keep doing them, haha. Last time I did the 'Obsession' theme at Cube Escape Dunsan and it was so fun that I came back again.

This time, since I'm not really into scary stuff, I went with the Titanic theme instead.

The escape room café located in a busy Dunsan-dong building

Cube Escape Dunsan is on the 6th floor of a building in the busy heart of Dunsan-dong. It's an easy stop if you're already out on a date in the neighborhood.

We booked ahead and arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation time. Since the game starts right on schedule, I'd recommend arriving with time to spare.

Is there parking at Cube Escape Dunsan?

Unfortunately parking doesn't seem to be supported. Dunsan-dong is a bit tricky for parking anyway, so paying for a lot nearby or leaving your car at home is the best option!

How much is the Titanic theme? ₩45,000 for two

The price was ₩45,000 for two people. There can be various discounts though — weekday, teen, birthday, and so on — so it's worth checking the website before you visit. We went on a weekday before 6pm!

On one side there were lockers for each room, a restroom, and a water cooler.

When you arrive, you drop off your bags, fill out a short confidentiality agreement, and go straight in. Apparently if you escape fastest you can even make it onto the hall of fame. There's a phone charger on one side of the store too, so you can charge up while you play.

Last time we did the horror-toned 'Obsession' theme, but this time I wanted to avoid anything scary, so I picked Titanic.

You can comfortably change into indoor shoes too!

While waiting, each table had a simple puzzle you could fiddle with, like a little head-turning brainteaser.

How hard is the Titanic theme, and did we escape?

I can't go into detail since it might spoil things, but I loved how the room itself was decorated in a Titanic atmosphere. It wasn't just solving puzzles in a plain room — the space was styled to match the theme, so I was immersed the moment I stepped in.

If you've done a few escape rooms before, the difficulty wasn't too hard. We used just one hint and escaped with a whopping 10 minutes left!

Solving puzzles together, going back and forth with 'is it this?' and then finally cracking the answer — that thrill is really the charm of escape rooms, haha.

After escaping we even got to take a polaroid photo, which was a nice way to remember the date.

Verdict: start with Titanic if horror rooms feel like too much

My last visit was so fun that I came back, and Cube Escape Dunsan was satisfying again this time. If you're like me — a bit put off by horror themes but still want to try an escape room — I'd say start with the Titanic theme.

  • Couples looking for an unusual date in Daejeon
