Magician JT's Science Lab is skillful enough to make even someone with no interest in magic suddenly interested. If you know, you know — JT is a famous YouTuber-magician. Because it's an interactive show, there's never a dull moment!!!!

Today the performer poured all his energy into making sure Daejeon had a blast. He had all the classic magician tools — a magic wand, a magic picture book — and I honestly considered buying them haha. Mood matters a lot in magic... haha.

The kids I watched with were a 1st grader and a 4-year-old who's still in daycare. Magician JT's Science Lab runs for 60 minutes, and since you can enter 20 minutes before it starts, we were actually seated for 80 minutes.

I wondered whether our 4-year-old would really sit still for 80 minutes. The verdict: she sat beautifully the whole time!!!

JT walked out to cheers from the kids. He opened with a simple yet astonishing trick that instantly locked in everyone's eyes.

The classic magician skills — making things disappear, pulling out things you'd never expect, splitting the body apart. Honestly... even knowing it's all tricks, I love it. You get so absorbed and so curious about what happens next that there's no time to be bored!!

What made Magician JT's Science Lab so satisfying is that it presents a science keyword, then ties that phenomenon to a magic trick — sparking real curiosity in the kids and then actually showing them the effect!

Magician JT's Science Lab isn't a one-man show.

It's filled out by audience participation, responses, and back-and-forth conversation, which is why so many people leave satisfied. It also felt like a show people genuinely wanted to be part of.

For the kid who gets called up on stage, it becomes an extra-special memory, and for parents who join in for their kids' sake, it's special too.

When a child goes up on stage, the parent's own nervous excitement seems to transfer straight to the child, who gets just as thrilled — and honestly, that whole scene was lovely to watch.

Thanks to Magician JT, who showed such a wide variety of tricks while keeping the audience engaged, our youngest watched intently the whole time without ever getting bored.

What the kids took away from the 60-minute show

60 minutes is longer than you'd think, but JT's magic show made time fly by so fast it was almost a shame. Daejeon is a city of science, and this show truly suited a science city.

For a show with kids, isn't the most important thing keeping both their focus and their fun going at the same time?!

Magician JT's Science Lab was satisfying to the point that everything felt complete, with no gaps or shortcomings. The kids' participation rate was high, and the interested gleam in their eyes the whole way through made me glad we came to see it together.

JT's magic show left behind a good message: that through science, anyone can share a magic-like experience. So we've made a promise to try the elephant-poop-making experiment we learned about in the science segment sometime soon. I'm not JT, though, so I'm not sure I can pull it off... haha. Guess I'll have to rewatch his YouTube videos.
