That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge is on the 6th floor of Dongwon Building, and the moment you step through the entrance, the luxurious, sophisticated interior really makes an impression.

With soft, warm lighting and a spacious, comfortable table layout, the whole place feels both luxurious and relaxed.

The outdoor terrace garden in particular is lit so beautifully that dining while looking out at the night view is absolutely amazing.

From the table setting to the cozy mood, everything is perfectly in place — you can see at a glance why it's famous as a date spot or blind-date venue in Ansan.

The order: lamb chop steak, pescatore and shrimp rosé risotto

On this visit I tried the pre-meal focaccia, lamb chop steak, pescatore, and shrimp rosé risotto — a nice variety of the chef's signature dishes, each made with real care.

Pre-meal bread: warm focaccia

The warm bread served before the meal was crisp outside and moist inside — dipped lightly in balsamic oil, it was the perfect way to wake up my appetite.

The lamb chop steak, with clear grill marks, caught the eye visually from the start.

Crisp on the outside and cooked to a juicy medium inside, it had zero gaminess and an amazing tender bite. Not for nothing is this place known for steak in Ansan Jungang-dong.

With a touch of the whole-grain mustard, basil pesto, and salt served alongside, the meat's own flavor really came alive. The pairing with the grilled cherry tomatoes was excellent too.

Pescatore, the restaurant's seafood pasta

The brothy pasta, packed with fresh, generous clams, had a deep, slightly spicy, umami-rich tomato sauce that was outstanding.

It kept things balanced amid a Western course that could easily get heavy, and the noodles soaked up the sauce nicely so I could enjoy every last spoonful of broth. The broth's spicy, refreshing kick makes this a strong recommendation if you're after pasta in Ansan Jungang-dong!

Shrimp rosé risotto

The rosé risotto, loaded with plump, springy shrimp, had a great balance between smooth, savory cream and bright tomato.

With pretty edible flowers, broccoli, and tomato on top, it was a dish that satisfied the eyes first and the mouth twice.

How the red and white wine pairings worked

Good food needs wine! We had both red and white, and they paired perfectly — the deep, full-bodied red went with the lamb chops, while the crisp white matched the seafood dishes beautifully.

It was the best combination for clinking glasses happily with someone special and chatting away.

The interior, right down to the restrooms, is kept as clean and luxurious as a hotel lobby or a high-end lounge. Thanks to the meticulously maintained, spotless interior, both hosts and guests can leave highly satisfied.
