If you've been looking for an atmospheric date restaurant in Jungang-dong, Ansan, you really need to save this one! My husband and I went recently for an anniversary, and as a woman I was completely satisfied with the experience, so let me break it all down in detail haha.

I tried all three — the lamb rack steak, the truffle cream paccheri, and the anchovy scallop oil pasta — and all three were amazing, so you really don't need to overthink it. Where is That Man's Italian in Ansan, and what is the atmosphere like?

That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge is just a 3-minute walk from Ansan Jungang Station, so it was really easy to find. The moment we walked in on the 6th floor of the Dongwon Building, the lighting was dimmed right down, and I thought, wow, this is perfect for a date haha.

Jazz and classical music played softly inside, and the tables were spaced generously, so we could talk comfortably without worrying about the next table over. I'm pretty sensitive about interior lighting and music, and That Man's Italian nailed it — not too much, just right — so I loved it the moment I sat down.

It's the kind of atmosphere that suits occasions you want to make an effort for, like anniversaries or first dates.

At That Man's Italian we ordered three dishes: lamb rack steak, truffle cream paccheri, and anchovy scallop oil pasta. Once you order, bread comes out first — moist inside and crispy outside, perfect for getting the appetite going!

We ordered the lamb rack steak, truffle cream paccheri, and anchovy oil pasta — those three.

The lamb rack steak had zero gamey smell and was clean-tasting, crispy outside and juicy inside. They said they use French rack under 12 months old, and you could really feel the juiciness and tender grain of the meat from the first bite.

The truffle cream paccheri had a strong aroma without being heavy, and the cream's thickness was exactly my taste — I was completely won over after one bite lol.

The anchovy scallop oil pasta had a salty savory flavor that kept me reaching for more, and paired with wine, the combination was seriously the best.

All three sauces are apparently made in-house, and you could really tell the difference from ordinary pasta places. The portions weren't overwhelming and the plating was pretty too, so it was fun taking photos as well.

That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge can fit up to 18 people in the private room, and up to 40 if you include the hall. We sat in the hall, but there was a separate private room further inside.

With room for up to 18 in the private room and up to 40 including the hall, it seemed like it could easily work for a wedding meet-the-parents meal, first birthday party, or company dinner.

It's a yes-kids-zone, so worth noting if you're bringing kids to a family gathering. It was great for a date, but I'd also love to book it again for a family gathering or anniversary sometime.

Restaurant bookings are easy through Naver Reservations, and same-day reservations are possible too, which is great if you need a table on short notice!

Parking is available at 5 nearby locations including the public lot at Dongwon Building right in front of the restaurant, and registering your license plate gets you 1 hour free, so it was stress-free to use.

A lot of people probably visit for special occasions, and since outside cakes are allowed, if you're celebrating an anniversary, it's worth bringing one ahead of time~! I was worried about driving there, but with no parking hassle we got to enjoy the date without any stress.
