I go near Bucheon City Hall Station twice a week for my daughter's academy. It's a bit of a distance from home, so I'm always the one dropping her off and picking her up.

Since I take the subway, I get off at Bucheon City Hall Station and walk through the Hyundai Department Store food court to get outside — and right in front of the escalator, one shop always caught my eye. That was Angry Potato.

The exterior is hip and eye-catching, so every time I passed by I got more curious. Then one day, my husband and I went together to pick up our daughter, and after her academy finished, the three of us decided to have dinner there.

You get to taste a little of everything, from chicken to potato — it's like experiencing the whole Angry Potato menu at once. The mini burger skewers cost 10,500 won and come with three types of adorable little burgers stuck on a skewer. I ordered them mainly for the visual, and true to the name, they really are tiny burgers skewered one after another!

With three different types, it was fun tasting a different flavor each time. But honestly, I was more surprised by the quality of the buns than the burgers themselves.

I ordered them at first just because they looked cute, but the buns were so good. I found myself wishing I could just eat one as a full-size burger... haha

Even my picky-eater daughter ate well, so we happily placed an extra order!

But there was another dish our family really fell for that day — the chewy potato! We even ordered an extra single order (M) for 5,500 won.

It was my first time trying it, and true to its name, it's genuinely chewy. It's potato, but with a slightly rice-cake-like chewy texture, and as you chew, a savory potato flavor comes through... completely my style, you know?

My daughter said this was the tastiest thing too. In the end, right as we were finishing the Deep Crunch Box, we ordered another single portion of chewy potato. + 5,500 won (M)

Ordered as a single dish, the portion was pretty generous, so we ate as much as we wanted. If you love rice-cake-like chewy textures, or have a bit of an 'old-fashioned' palate (?), you have to try this. Weirdly, my hand kept reaching for more. Haha.

We visited on a weekday evening, and customers kept coming in to order the whole time. Word really gets around about good places!

The staff were friendly too, so we had a pleasant meal, and I liked that they cook with clean oil and fresh ingredients on-site. Since it's potato and chicken, it works well as a light snack, but ordering the Deep Crunch Box or a mini burger set was plenty for a full meal.

It's especially great when family members have different tastes, since you can try several dishes at once! I'd walked past it every week wondering about it, and once I finally tried it, I couldn't believe I hadn't gone in sooner. I have a feeling we'll be coming back every week just for the chewy potato lol.
