Bucheon potato snack shop with fries in soft serve: Angry Potato

Shopping at Hyundai Department Store in Bucheon, I always somehow end up hungry, looking for something quick to eat! That's when I spotted Angry Potato in the basement food hall! The faint smell of fries drifting around made it hard to just walk past.

What caught my eye especially was being able to enjoy several menu items at once, making it work as both a snack and a meal. Once I tried it, it felt less like a simple fries shop and more like an American fast-casual spot with a real variety of dishes!! Let's get into the review~

It's located in the basement food hall of Hyundai Department Store Jungdong Branch!

If you're looking for a good spot for food in Bucheon's Hyundai Department Store, this location was convenient to fit right into a shopping route.

There were already several customers waiting in line..!! Luckily the line moved fast. Takeout is available too, and next to the store there's a pickup zone with tables and chairs set up for eating right there.

There were so many sauces, which made it easy to eat according to your own taste!

The menu is huge.

For this visit I ordered the Deep Crunch Box for ₩20,000 and a large vanilla soft serve for ₩4,000!

What comes in the 20,000 won Deep Crunch Box?

The Deep Crunch Box! It's basically all the popular menu items packed into one, so it worked great when I wanted to try a bit of everything. It comes with 2 pieces of hot crunch chicken, mini burgers, Chili's cheese sticks, fries, chewy potato skewers, mac and cheese, and ranch tartar sauce!

At first I thought maybe they'd also included a hot dog.

But it turned out to be a container holding sauce and pickles haha.

Sauces you can enjoy however you like!! With so many varieties, it's fun to mix and match them too.

Chili cheese sticks in the Deep Crunch Box

Chili's cheese sticks! These were super trendy at one point, right~ The cheese stretches out beautifully.

They apparently use 100% natural whole mozzarella cheese. The cheese's signature savoriness balances out the spiciness of the chili sauce!

Hot crunch chicken and fries

Hot crunch chicken! Made with 100% chicken thigh meat, it had a crispy outside and juicy inside — true to its name, the exterior was seriously crunchy.

The fries were also generously portioned, with that classic, familiar flavor!! Dipping them in different sauces gave it a whole different kind of appeal.

Chewy potato skewers

Chewy potato skewers! This was the item I was most excited about. The chewy potato has a completely different texture from fries, so eating them together made the contrast even clearer! Truly chewy through and through!! The outside was crispy but the inside was chewy, giving it its own distinct charm.

Mini burgers

Burgers! I ordered the beef burger — have you ever seen such a tiny burger 😂 You can choose between chicken burger, shrimp burger, and beef burger.

Made with a brioche bun in a small size, it was great to enjoy as a one-bite item!

Dipping Angry Potato fries into vanilla soft serve

Ice cream for dessert too! After all the salty food, diving into sweet ice cream felt like it reset my palate!!

I dipped the fries right into it! Good combo!!!

Is Angry Potato worth a shopping break in Bucheon?

If you want to knock out both shopping and a snack in one trip at Hyundai Department Store Jungdong in Bucheon, Angry Potato is worth remembering! I'd love to come back and try other potato menu items next time! If you love fries, this is a place that's a bit of a shame to walk past based on just one menu item~~ When you get hungry mid-shopping, dropping by for casual American-style potato snacks seems like a good idea! Ate well again today!
