This was my first visit to Eopu Kitchen, a place known for its good pasta and risotto. It's close to Seohaegucheong Station and right by a bus stop, so it's easy to get to, and the wood-tone interior with soft lighting gives the space a calm, cozy hideout feeling. I'd recommend this Seohae, Incheon restaurant for a date night or a family meal out.

The atmosphere was even better than the exterior suggested. Walnut-tone wood, soft lighting, and touches of dark green combine for a clean, calm, well put-together feel.

The tables are spaced pretty far apart, so it's a good place to eat and talk. There are plenty of tables too, making it good for gatherings with friends or family. You can reserve seats via Naver Reservation, which is worth doing on holidays and weekends.

There was a drinks and liquor fridge on one side of the restaurant. Alongside the usual soft drinks, there was Bundaberg, sparkling water, Catch! Teenieping drinks for kids, and soju and wine for the grown-ups.

Every table had a tabletop ordering tablet, which made ordering easy, and there were recommended menu items too, which helped. If you want to check the menu and prices before visiting Eopu Kitchen in Seohae, Incheon, you can look up the menu registered on Naver Place.

Green grape ade, ₩5,000. Refreshing, not too sweet, and fizzy in a way that paired nicely with the meal. By the way — if you join Eopu Kitchen's review event, they'll give you a glass of ade.

Pre-meal bread and balsamic oil. Places that do Western food well usually nail the pre-meal bread first, and this one had me excited from the start.

You could tell they didn't hold back on the olive oil and basil pesto in this basil oil pasta. I worried it might be too much, but one bite in, the basil and oil flavor came through fully and I loved it. Really tasty.

Too much oil usually makes a dish greasy, but this wasn't like that at all — the sliced garlic, zucchini, tomato, and arugula gave it savory depth while keeping the flavor clean.

The dish to order at Eopu Kitchen: truffle mushroom cream risotto, 19,000 won

The truffle aroma hit the moment it arrived — instant 100 points from me. The savory cream sauce with the rice grains cooked just right made for a lovely soft texture.

The mushrooms were cut into big chunks, so instead of a mushy texture you got a nice chewy bite, and there was a generous pile of arugula on top that was great mixed in.

If you're visiting Eopu Kitchen, you have to include the truffle mushroom cream risotto in your order. It was the best.

With panne, you can choose from 4 types of pasta. I went with tteumba, and I was startled by the sheer visual violence of it arriving in a giant bowl.

Tongs and scissors served with panne tteumba pasta

They give you the whole loaf of bread, plus tongs and scissors. The person next to me was blocking the scissors so I didn't even realize they'd given us any, and ended up cutting the bread with a knife instead... use the scissors, people...

The panne tteumba pasta portion was pretty generous, and best of all, the sauce was plentiful too — very satisfying. Honestly, I liked it more than the famous chain version.
