Songdo to Geomdan hair salon for a men's perm: Lee Kyung Min Foret

It had been a really, really long time since my last perm, so while looking for a salon I found Lee Kyung Min Foret Geomdan New Town Branch (이경민포레 검단신도시점), a clean salon in Geomdan New Town with the vibe of Cheongdam-dong. It was quite far from Songdo where I live, but I heard the designers there were really skilled, so I trusted the reviews and went — and I was pretty satisfied haha.

5 minutes on foot from Ara Station, with parking down to B3

This salon in Geomdan New Town is only a 5-minute walk from Ara Station, so it's really easy to get to, and there's basement parking down to B3, which made parking convenient too~

Walking in, the white-toned interior gave off that Cheongdam-dong salon feel — clean and bright, with a luxurious atmosphere.

Inside Lee Kyung Min Foret: seat spacing and floor-to-ceiling windows

Inside Lee Kyung Min Foret Geomdan New Town Branch, the marble floors and bright white tones make the space feel private thanks to the wide spacing between styling seats. Interior design really matters at salons these days, and the sofas, tables, and other furniture matched the vibe nicely.

The wide gaps between the styling seats meant I could get my treatment comfortably while still being able to have a private conversation.

With the floor-to-ceiling windows, on a nice day you can even enjoy a cool view of the Geomdan New Town scenery.

There was a clean white waiting area that fit the overall mood, and you could really tell they paid attention to every detail of the interior and props — nice to look around too.

Since a men's perm takes quite a while, they gave me snacks and a drink, which was great on a hot summer day.

There was also a shampoo area on one side of the salon with leather seats set at just the right angle, so I could get my shampoo done comfortably without any discomfort haha.

There were also all kinds of hair products on display, and they were kind enough to recommend products that would help with styling a perm, which is normally tricky to manage!

Inside Lee Kyung Min Foret Geomdan New Town Branch, there's a separate private room — and it turns out to be a spot where you can get makeup done.

There were countless cosmetics on display and the lighting was set up nicely, so I'd guess photos would turn out great in there too. Before a meeting or a blind date, coming to Lee Kyung Min Foret and getting makeup done along with your hair styling seems like a great way to save time haha.

Maybe because it's a Geomdan New Town salon, they offer makeup on top of hair services, which I think women would really appreciate — I was a bit surprised at how many different cosmetics they had, honestly haha.

How the men's perm by designer Gawon turned out

The designer who did my men's perm this time was Gawon, and honestly, no exaggeration, this was probably the perm I've liked the most in my life. For guys, right after a cut or perm it usually looks a bit awkward at first, but this time it looked natural and suited me right away, which really won me over.

My honest verdict on Lee Kyung Min Foret Geomdan

Lee Kyung Min Foret Geomdan New Town Branch is a clean, white-toned salon in Geomdan New Town with a Cheongdam-dong vibe. The designer's men's perm skills were great, the facilities were clean, the prices were reasonable, and on top of that it has a makeup zone that women would love — a pretty unique salon overall.

It's quite far from where I live, but I still plan to keep coming back to Lee Kyung Min Foret Geomdan New Town Branch for my perms from now on.
