Geomdan hair salon fix for brassy self-dye: Lee Kyung Min Foret

It's been a while since my last beauty day~! I stopped paying attention because of the heat, and suddenly it's fall haha. My roots had grown out so much it looked messy, so I went looking for a hair salon near home in Geomdan New Town : )

Lee Kyung Min Foret Geomdan New Town Branch is in the Hello Bangbang building in Geomdan New Town, so it's not hard to find, and parking is available through the building. Since Lee Kyung Min Foret is such a well-known name, I had a feeling I couldn't really go wrong haha. Pricing is set and transparent~! There are also discount events for root touch-ups, bleaching, and makeup, so it's worth keeping in mind.

The interior is clean and tidy~! I don't like crowds, so I went on a relatively quiet weekday morning, and since I had an appointment and arrived on time, there was no waiting at all. Looked like they had a hair makeup event going on too. If you have an occasion coming up, worth keeping in mind!

Before: roots turned bright yellow by a home self-dye

My before hair condition haha. The overgrown roots were a problem, but since I did my last dye job at home, only the crown area was noticeably bright^^;; The length was also uneven from growing out too much~!

Looking at it like this, my hair is so bright and yellow haha. That's how it looks in bright light~

And this is how it looks in a slightly darker spot. When asked what color I wanted, I said I didn't want anything red- or yellow-toned, and that I wanted an overall balanced dark brown tone.

Full color with a purple tone, starting with scalp protector

After checking the color chart and consulting with the stylist, we decided on a full color with a purple tone to neutralize the existing yellow tint.

Before dyeing, the stylist sprayed on a scalp protector~~ I had washed my hair that morning out of courtesy (?), but apparently it's actually better not to wash your hair on dye day since it can be more sensitive to irritation. Maybe because of the scalp protector applied beforehand, I didn't feel any stinging or discomfort while the dye was being applied.

Time for the color to process, starting from the roots~! The stylist's hands were fast, so it never felt boring or like it was taking forever. We chatted here and there too~~

Waiting for the dye to process~! I kind of look like Draco Malfoy's dad here?? Getting your hair done is a great time to just scroll on your phone and think about random things. Totally free time haha. That's why it's a beauty day😁

They gave me coffee and a snack, so I fully enjoyed my free time eating and scrolling on my phone. After checking my hair, we moved on to the shampoo, and they kept checking in to see if anything felt uncomfortable. The shampoo itself was so refreshing and satisfying.

After the color: dark brown with no yellow left

And here's the after~! Comparing before and after, the difference is obvious. My hair, which had looked limp like wilted cabbage, was also blow-dried beautifully haha.

Not yellow, not red, and the tone isn't too bright — it feels well balanced. They really seem to nail exactly the color feel I described.

A layered cut as well — showing a photo is the easiest way

My hair had grown out a lot and looked a bit messy, so I got a cut done at the same time. Trimmed the length a little and went with a layered cut~! They finished it off with a full blow dry, and I loved it!😊 When going to a hair salon in Geomdan New Town, if you have a specific style in mind, it's easiest to just show a screenshot photo haha. Explaining in words can fall short or get interpreted differently sometimes~!

The full before-and-after shot looks like this! Much neater and calmer overall. Both the cut and the color turned out to my liking, so I'm very satisfied with the result.
