Lately I've really felt how fast time is flying — before I knew it the weather turned chilly and fall had already arrived 🍂 With the season changing, I wanted a change in my style too, and it happened that the roots from my dye job two months ago had grown out quite a lot, making my whole head look messy.

I booked a time slot in advance through Naver Reservation, and once I arrived at the salon I was seated right away with no waiting — that was really satisfying.

Stepping inside, the interior was neatly arranged overall, which made a great first impression.

I especially liked that the seats were spaced generously apart, so I wasn't too close to other guests during the service. It made the whole experience feel airy and comfortable rather than cramped.

Before: consultation on two months of grown-out roots

After being shown to my seat, I had a proper hair consultation with Designer Gawon, who would be handling my hair today.

Before the service, my hair was quite long, but the sections that had been thinned out before had grown back unevenly, so it all looked flyaway and messy. On top of that, the roots had grown out a lot, leaving a blotchy two-tone look — I really needed both a tone fix and a length trim.

I told the designer I wanted something a bit brighter than my current color, and a matte tone with no red undertones.

Designer Gawon carefully checked my skin tone and my usual style, then recommended an ash brown color that would counter the red undertones. She also worked out the cut length that would suit my face shape best, so I could relax and trust her completely.

The coloring process: scalp irritation and chemical smell

Once the service began, they kindly offered a choice of coffee or another drink, along with some snacks. Between checking my phone and snacking, the time flew by without a dull moment.

One thing I personally loved about the process was the dye itself. Usually when I dye my hair, the chemical smell can give me a headache, and I've had plenty of uncomfortable moments where the dye stings or itches on my scalp. This time, even after the dye was applied close to my scalp, there was no irritation or discomfort at all. The smell wasn't strong either, so I felt comfortable the entire time.

After the dye was applied, I moved to the shampoo area, and the scalp massage during the wash felt amazing — like all my fatigue melted away. Back at my seat, they did one more round of cutting, then finished with a beautiful blow-dry. The whole service took about two and a half hours.

When it was all done and I looked in the mirror, I was really satisfied! The ash brown color matched exactly the cool tone I had pictured in my head.

The red undertones I was most worried about were completely neutralized, letting a sophisticated ash tone come through, and the length was trimmed neatly to suit my face shape, giving the whole look a much fresher feel. I barely noticed any damage to my hair either — if anything it felt softer than before, which I loved.
