I'd booked a place to stay near Hajodae and was still deciding on food when I found a sashimi takeout shop right nearby?? Booked it immediately. Here's my review of Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout, which impressed me with both value and freshness.
Where is Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout, and when is it open?
Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout is a sashimi takeout specialty shop at 1717-23 Donghae-daero, Sonyang-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do. It's open daily 15:00–22:00, opening at 14:30 on Saturdays and Sundays, and Monday through Thursday hours can vary depending on the day's catch.
I'd booked my accommodation near Hajodae, so it was only about a 5-minute drive. (Ordering takeout without a car would be a bit tough, so I'd recommend delivery or picking up in person.) The reason I decided on sashimi takeout for this trip is that there are quite a few sashimi restaurants near my stay, but the ones right by the beach are way too pricey... so I decided to get takeout instead~!

There's plenty of parking space in front of the restaurant. No need to worry~!

Can you eat in at Eosiljang, or is it takeout only?
Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout is mainly a takeout operation, so the in-store tables are pretty limited. Still, there are a few tables, and when I asked, they said some people who just stop by on a drive can eat there too.

There are even seats where you can eat while looking out at the sea view... so romantic!

I could see plenty of the fish that would end up in my mouth.

There were a lot of takeout orders, and it seemed really systematic. While I was waiting for my order, several other people came to pick up their takeout orders too — already feels like a well-known spot, so my expectations went up! 📈
※If you have a long way to travel, make sure to mention it when ordering.

Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout menu and prices
At Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout, the assorted sashimi for two costs ₩50,000, and the raw-fish-free mulhoe with noodles included is ₩7,000. The seafood menu includes assorted sashimi, flatfish/rockfish, flatfish, abalone, and sea squirt, and it's nice that there are various portion sizes like single or 1.5 servings!
There's a separate raw-fish-free mulhoe option, so you can just get the seasoned broth, vegetables, and noodles — a nice bonus! Being a takeout specialty shop, it feels like the menu is stripped down to just the essentials.
- Assorted sashimi for two - ₩50,000
- Raw-fish-free mulhoe - ₩7,000 *includes noodles

I added the raw-fish-free mulhoe on top of my order. Eating only raw fish can get a bit much after a while, so why not toss the leftover sashimi into the mulhoe??? Having that option on the menu is truly a stroke of genius from Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout! 👍🏻
What comes in the 50,000-won assorted sashimi for two
The assorted sashimi for two from Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout came with sashimi, spicy vinegar sauce & wasabi, perilla leaves, and seaweed. The sashimi was made up of red seabream, mullet, flatfish, rockfish, whelk, abalone, and sea squirt, along with cheongyang chili peppers, garlic, garlic scapes, pickled radish, and fruit cocktail.

To keep it fresh, they laid ice on a big plate and placed the packed sashimi on top. Hahaha, what a nice touch~~~ all set up so neatly and thoughtfully 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Because it was live-fish sashimi, it was so chewy! 🐠 Can you feel the springiness just from the photo?

Is the 7,000-won raw-fish-free mulhoe worth adding?
The raw-fish-free mulhoe from Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout is ₩7,000 with noodles included, and it was perfect for tossing in the leftover sashimi. Noodles, double added into the raw-fish-free mulhoe! The noodles had firmed up a bit by the time we got to them, but they loosened right back up once mixed in.

We had some leftover sesame oil from a barbecue earlier, so I drizzled a bit into the mulhoe. (🐽 True foodies add sesame oil to mulhoe.) Sweet and tangy — adding the mulhoe was definitely the right call! Highly recommend it! 👍🏻

Why you must arrive on time for your Eosiljang reservation
At Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout, reservations get automatically canceled if you're more than 30 minutes late. Since freshness is the top priority for sashimi, make sure to double-check your pickup reservation time in advance~! Apparently a lot of people book and never show up, which is why they have this policy. I showed up about an hour late... and my reservation got canceled, so I had to rebook. 😭
Also, if you leave one Naver photo review, they'll give you up to one whole abalone. Isn't that so generous? Make sure to participate and grab that extra abalone.
