Yangyang dog-friendly café with an outdoor playground: Hello Mamma Mia

Hi, I'm Happy Munchi. While looking for a café in Yangyang during my trip, I found Hello Mamma Mia! I love dogs, so the fact that it's a dog café immediately drew me in. I heard it's a dog café you can visit even without bringing your own dog, so I decided to check it out. Let's take a look at my visit to Hello Mamma Mia.

Where is Hello Mamma Mia, and where do you park?

Hello Mamma Mia is located at 41 Muljicheon-ro, 1st floor, Ganghyeon-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do. The entrance is painted a bright orange, so it was easy to spot. Street parking is available around the neighborhood, so parking was easy too.

Can you visit Hello Mamma Mia without a dog? Meet Gwangsuk, the resident dog

True to a dog café, the moment I walked in, Hello Mamma Mia's resident dog Gwangsuk came to greet me. She barked a little at first — I guess she takes guarding the place seriously — but soon came right up and sat quietly nearby. Like me, you can visit this dog café even without bringing your own dog, so come say hi to Gwangsuk.

Inside Hello Mamma Mia: seating and atmosphere

The interior of Hello Mamma Mia has a cozy, warm feel with brick and wood materials. Each table has a slightly different vibe, so you can pick whichever style you like best. The bar-style seats by the window look out onto the outdoor dog playground.

What is the outdoor dog playground like?

Outside the café, there's an outdoor dog playground where dogs can run around freely. The whole floor is covered in artificial turf, which kept it clean, and the space is large, so it looked like a great spot for dogs to play. On one side there are tables and chairs where guardians can sit comfortably and watch their dogs play. Several large parasols are set up too, so you don't have to worry even on days with strong sun.

Hello Plaque: the dog toothpaste the owner developed herself

Below the menu board, one product caught my eye — Hello Plaque, a dog dental-care product! I asked the owner about it, and she said she developed it herself. I had assumed this was just a dog café, but she'd actually gone and developed a product for pets too.

I also bought a Hello Plaque to give as a gift to a friend's dog. Along with the product, there was information explaining it — Hello Plaque is a dental-care product for both dogs and cats. It's meant to help with bad breath, gum health, and tartar removal.

There was even a patent certificate displayed, which made me trust the product more. When I used to have a dog, brushing her teeth was genuinely such a struggle. But with Hello Plaque, you just spray it onto the dog's teeth and that's it — it seems great for anyone who finds brushing their dog's teeth difficult. There are several series of Hello Plaque, so you can pick the one that suits your pet for dental care.

Why Hello Mamma Mia is a good stop on a Yangyang or Sokcho trip

I got a delicious cup of coffee and met a cute dog on top of it — a nice little bit of healing during the trip.

They also make and sell handmade dog treats, so it's a good place to pick some up for your dog too. I'd recommend Hello Mamma Mia to anyone who has a pet living in Yangyang, or anyone traveling to Yangyang with their pet. (It's close to Sokcho too, so it's convenient to visit from there as well.)
