Went to Jayeon in PLANT827 while traveling in Jeju, mostly for coffee and some good bread 🌿 I figured it'd just be a big bakery café, but once I got there, there was a whole garden behind the café with walking paths and various experience spaces — honestly enough to fill up a good chunk of your day just from this one stop :)

What kind of café is Jayeon in PLANT827? A big Jeju café wrapped in green garden

Jayeon in PLANT827 is a large garden-style bakery café in Wolpyeong-dong, Jeju City. I was a little surprised at how much bigger it was than I expected the moment we arrived! The whole area around the building was packed with green plants, so the first impression was already lush, and there was a spacious parking lot right in front, so parking was easy.

Walking inside, one wall was covered with posters introducing PLANT827's signature bakery items and drinks. From salt bread to garlic baguette and danish, plus the Plant Latte and 827 Latte — so even as a first-timer you instantly get a sense of what's famous here lol

And PLANT827 isn't just a café where you grab coffee and bread and leave. It's set up as a nature retreat with flowers, forest, and garden all together, with plenty of things to see and experience around the café 🌿

Looking at the map, it was way bigger than I expected lol. Centered around the café, it's divided into the grass garden, Jeju foot bath, flower garden, orchard, elephant rock, buddleia garden, and rabbit hill — at this point it's less "café with a garden attached" and more "garden with a café inside."

Weekend afternoon seating at Jayeon in PLANT827: how roomy is the interior?

We decided to fill up first and explore the garden later, so we checked out the inside first lol. High ceilings, plenty of seats — definitely gave off that classic big Jeju café vibe!

We arrived around 2-3pm and it was packed since it was the weekend. Still, the space itself is so large with so many seats that finding a table wasn't a hassle, and the green scenery through the floor-to-ceiling windows kept the interior from feeling stuffy at all.

First, a scan of the drink menu! My husband went with an iced americano (₩6,500) and I picked the ice cream strawberry latte (₩9,500) 🍓 We picked our drinks first, then chose our bread at the bakery counter, and paid for everything together.

True to a bakery café, the bread selection was genuinely huge 🥐 Plain salt bread ₩5,000, chive cream cheese salt bread ₩5,900, ganbutter salt bread ₩5,500 — just the salt bread section alone had several types! There's even a mentaiko mayo salt bread, so anyone into savory flavors will have a hard time deciding lol

Six-clove garlic bread ₩6,300, chive cream cheese bagel ₩5,600, long sausage bread ₩7,500, egg tart ₩4,500, sweet potato tart ₩4,800. From sweet desserts to hearty options, there were plenty of choices.

Chocolate scone ₩4,500, sweet potato bread ₩5,500! The chewy cream roll is ₩7,500 — described as a chewy bread with soybean flour cream, for a sweet-and-nutty combo.

Jeju garlic baguette ₩6,300, Jeju tangerine cream cheese bun ₩5,900, roll cheese ciabatta ₩6,800, chocolate baguette ₩6,200. The Jeju tangerine cream cheese bun in particular — a tangerine-shaped bread filled with Jeju tangerine jam and cream cheese — looked like a fun pick for a Jeju trip souvenir bite 🍊

Danish loaf ₩7,500 and pastry ₩7,900! Bread lovers could easily spend forever just circling the bakery counter lol

After agonizing over the endless bread options, we went with the ganbutter salt bread (₩5,500) and long sausage bread (₩7,500)! One sweet-and-nutty, one savory-and-hearty — a solid combo right from the start lol

One thing I liked was that they had a knife and utensils set out so you could cut the bread yourself. Rather than being a hassle, it was actually more convenient — you can slice it to whatever thickness you want, right when you want it.

Slicing it up nice and easy 🔪 Great for sharing between two people, and since everyone wants a different size, cutting it yourself turned out to be a low-key nice touch.

Can you eat at the outdoor lawn seats in the PLANT827 garden?

The drinks came out quickly, so we brought them and the bread outside 🌿 With the lush green lawn as a backdrop, the photos came out great and it felt like real Jeju.

My husband's iced americano, my ice cream strawberry latte 🍓 We took a few photos, planning to relax and eat out there, but... the sun was way stronger than expected lolol. We ended up snapping quick photos and fleeing back into the cool interior 🤣

How do the red bean butter salt bread and long sausage bread taste?

Our café spread, reset at a new table lol. We only picked two breads, but both were pretty sizeable, so with the drinks it felt more like a real meal than a snack.

Both the ganbutter salt bread and the long sausage bread were delicious — bottom line, our bread picks were a total success 👏 One sweet-and-nutty, one savory, so switching between them meant we never got tired of either.

With the drinks alongside, the combo was great! A clean coffee like the iced americano and a sweet ice cream strawberry latte — good picks for both our tastes!!

The ganbutter salt bread is exactly as named — salt bread with red bean paste and butter tucked inside! Savory salt bread plus sweet red bean and nutty butter made for a proper sweet-salty-nutty combo. Even with the butter and red bean, the salt bread's signature savoriness still came through, so it didn't get sickly sweet at all — I ate it happily.

The long sausage bread lives up to its name, with a big fat sausage inside, so even one piece was pretty filling. Bread, sausage, and savory toppings together — familiar flavors hit different lol, kept wanting more! We cut it to share and the portion was generous, so it seems like a solid pick if you want one really filling bakery item.

The ice cream strawberry latte I picked had a generous scoop of soft-serve on top. Take a bite of the chewy ice cream first, then mix it into the strawberry latte below — sweet and cold, basically drink-and-dessert in one lol. As someone who loves strawberry lattes, I was fully satisfied 🍓

Once we'd eaten our fill at the café, we checked the Jayeon in map by the entrance again. Turns out it's not just a garden — there are experience programs like animal feeding, and the flowers change with the seasons too.

We visited during grass garden season, so off we went to check it out!

Step outside the café and the green garden opens up

Once outside, the garden felt way bigger than it looked from inside 🌿 With lawn, trees, and all kinds of plants mixed together, it felt like a real waste to just grab coffee and leave without exploring.

There were parasols and tables scattered around the garden, so on a cooler day it'd be a great spot to just sit outside and relax. The sun was too strong for us that day so we retreated indoors lol, but with the right weather, the outdoor seats would be way more tempting!

We wanted to see everything, but we had other plans that day, so we decided to just walk the grass garden and head out. I thought the café itself was just big, but stepping outside, there was actual fun in exploring on foot too — worth giving yourself extra time if you can.

Walking along the path, green grass spread out on both sides and the atmosphere was so pretty. It's a different vibe from the flashy flower fields you usually picture in Jeju — the grass swaying gently in the wind was healing in itself 🌿

It wasn't just one type of grass planted — a mix of varieties with slightly different shapes and colors made it fun to walk through and look around. From green to slightly reddish to brownish tones, the mood shifted subtly even within the same space.

The way it sways in the wind is honestly better as a video than a photo lol. Just standing there watching it had this oddly calming effect.

There was a swing in one corner of the garden too, and I saw people sitting there resting or taking photos. Instead of rushing through, most people were walking slowly and sitting to enjoy the garden — I could see why PLANT827 bills itself as more than just a café, but a place to rest in nature :)

Is the rabbit feeding experience running?

On our way out, we found a space with rabbits 🐰 They normally run a carrot-feeding experience with the rabbits, but there was a sign saying it was temporarily paused when we visited.

Couldn't do the feeding, but we got plenty of rabbit-watching in lol. Some grazing on grass, some tucked inside their house, some sprawled out resting in the shade — each one doing its own thing made it fun to watch 🐰 With such a large garden plus animals and experience spaces, this seems like a great spot for families traveling Jeju with kids!!

Went in for coffee and bread, but ended up wishing I'd had more time in the garden — that's Jayeon in PLANT827 for you 🌿 We only got to walk the grass garden this time because of our schedule, but next time I want to come back with more time and slowly explore the other spaces too :)
