In short
Sotbap Hansang is a pot-rice (sotbap) Korean set-meal restaurant on Sangdeok-ro in Idong-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi. On a late-evening visit the braised beef short rib (galbi-jjim) cost 28,000 won and had to be ordered as the same dish for two people, arriving with pumpkin porridge, seaweed soup, japchae, acorn jelly and a self-serve banchan bar. At Sotbap Hansang, a restaurant worth seeking out in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, I tried the braised beef short rib for 28,000 won and got a seriously generous pot-rice set.
Pumpkin porridge, seaweed soup, japchae, namul, and kimchi — every single side dish was good, and the whole thing felt like a complete, satisfying Korean set meal.
It's a place I'd recommend for family outings, meals with parents, or a hearty stop after a round at a nearby golf course.

I visited Sotbap Hansang while looking for a good Korean set-meal restaurant in Cheoin-gu, Yongin.

With neat banchan, freshly made pot rice, and a proper main dish, it's a complete set meal — a Yongin restaurant I'd recommend to anyone looking for a place for family meals or dinner with parents.

When I actually visited, there were plenty of other diners, and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable for a meal.

What Sotbap Hansang looks like: a mushroom-shaped house at night
Sotbap Hansang is a Korean set-meal restaurant on Sangdeok-ro in Idong-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin. I visited for a late dinner, and right away the unusual exterior caught my eye — it really does look like a giant mushroom house, the kind of thing you'd glance twice at just passing by.
Arriving in the evening, the softly lit interior added to the atmosphere.
Since I was there for a late dinner, I decided to make it an especially hearty meal and headed inside.

Sotbap Hansang menu and prices: two people, one shared choice
Sotbap Hansang has a wide variety of menu items.

The borigulbi set is 25,000 won, the female crab soy-marinade sotbap set is 32,000 won, and the braised beef short rib is 28,000 won.

Everything looked delicious and I wanted to try several dishes, but you can't order single portions of different menus — two people have to choose the same dish — so I picked extra carefully that day.

After some deliberation, I went with the braised beef short rib. Spoiler: it was a great choice.
Braised beef short rib at 28,000 won: the rib meat and radish
Sotbap Hansang's braised beef short rib (galbi-jjim) is 28,000 won and comes with a big rib bone and radish.
The rib meat was tender and the seasoning had soaked in nicely.

What I especially loved was the radish cooked alongside it — really delicious.

The seasoning had properly soaked into it, so it tasted great eaten together with the rib meat.

Paired with warm pot rice, the rice just disappeared.

Side dishes at Sotbap Hansang, from pumpkin porridge to acorn jelly
Sotbap Hansang, in Idong-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin, is a place worth visiting for the banchan (side dishes) alone. It wasn't just the braised short rib that impressed me — the side dishes served alongside were great too.

From pumpkin porridge to seaweed soup, japchae, acorn jelly, various namul, and kimchi — a wide spread was laid out.

It wasn't just a lot of side dishes for the sake of it — each one had its own distinct, good flavor, and I enjoyed every bite.

The pumpkin porridge served before the meal was especially soft and delicious. You know how hard it is to make pumpkin porridge (hobakjuk) that's actually good? Not too sweet but not bland either, with a smooth, easy texture — I really liked it. When the pumpkin porridge is good, doesn't it just make you think this place knows what it's doing with food?
It's no secret that I went back for a second helping of that pumpkin porridge because it was so good!
With seaweed soup on top of that, it really felt like a full, proper Korean set meal. Nothing overly seasoned or sharp — just comforting, homestyle flavors, which made the meal satisfying right from the start.

Refills at the self-serve banchan bar
Sotbap Hansang also has a self-serve banchan bar, so I could easily grab more of any side dish I wanted.
Namul, yeolmu mul-kimchi (young radish water kimchi), regular kimchi, salad, and more were all neatly laid out.
I could freely top up on any side dish I was running low on during the meal.

The pot rice: Sindongjin rice with glutinous rice and corn rice
True to its name, Sotbap Hansang obviously can't skip the pot rice (sotbap).

The pot rice is apparently made with top-grade Sindongjin rice mixed with glutinous rice and corn rice.
The rice itself was fluffy yet had a nice chewy texture.
What I liked most was that the pot rice made this feel like a truly complete set meal.

Pairing the pot rice with the braised short rib, plus all the side dishes and soup, made for a genuinely satisfying, filling meal.
After the meal: unmanned café and garden courtyard
After finishing the meal, Sotbap Hansang also has an unmanned café space inside the restaurant that you can use.

You can enjoy coffee and drinks at reasonable prices, and if the weather's nice, it's also lovely to relax for a bit in the garden courtyard.
This isn't the kind of restaurant where you eat quickly and leave — the atmosphere is good for a slow meal and conversation with family.
Who is Sotbap Hansang a good fit for?
Sotbap Hansang seems like a great fit for anyone looking for a clean, generous Korean set meal among the restaurants in Cheoin-gu, Yongin.

If you're specifically looking for a Korean set-meal restaurant in Yongin or Cheoin-gu, or a place to eat with parents or for a family outing, this one's worth keeping in mind.

It's also a good place to know if, like me, you're looking for a hearty meal after playing at a nearby golf course such as Haesolia CC, Sehyun CC, or Korea CC.
After weighing several options, I picked the braised beef short rib, and between the rib meat, radish, pot rice, and side dishes, everything was so good that I was really glad with my choice that day.

Next time, I'd like to try the borigulbi set or the female crab soy-marinade sotbap set.
