Jeonpo Café Street photo studio for kids' flip books: Jeonpo Times

I've been trying to figure out where to take the kids lately, and this time I found somewhere a bit different. It's Jeonpo Times, on Jeonpo Café Street in Busan. I went in thinking it was just a photo place, but I ended up having way more fun than expected, so I wanted to write it down.

Jeonpo has so many cafés, restaurants, and things to see that it's honestly hard to decide where to take the kids sometimes. This time we went to Jeonpo Times to eat something good and try a new experience too.

How the flip book photo booth at Jeonpo Times works

Right past the entrance of Jeonpo Times is the flip book photo booth. If it's your first time, I really recommend reading the instructions before you start! (My kids teased me for being old and clueless, haha, ugh.)

What I was most curious about was the "moving photo book." It gives the feeling of a photo book where the scene actually moves, so I thought it'd be fun to try with the kids. When you flip through it afterward, it really does look like the photos are moving! ⤵️👩🎨⬇️

What makes Jeonpo Times fun with kids

At first I thought the kids would just take one or two photos and be done, but they actually had a lot more fun than I expected. They were discussing poses with each other while shooting, and after each shot they kept checking to see how it turned out.

What I especially liked was that visiting with kids let us capture fun photos that are hard to get otherwise. As kids get older, they don't stand still for photos like they used to, and getting a natural shot isn't easy either. But in a space like this, the act of taking photos itself feels like a game, so the kids could enjoy it without any pressure. The atmosphere inside Jeonpo Times was pretty fun too.

We also looked at photos taken by other visitors, and there were fun props set up too.

These days we take so many photos on our phones. This place felt extra special because taking photos itself becomes an experience. And of course, my kids each had their own style when posing — one was great at posing, the other kept goofing around, haha. Watching them laugh and joke around while taking photos, I thought, 'this is exactly what small memories are made of.'

After seeing the results, the kids kept talking about their own photos for a while.

And so we ended up taking several more.

Oh, and ⬆️ you should definitely try the free photo booth too! You can take moody black-and-white, receipt-style photos, and it's apparently a free event unique to this Jeonpo branch.

Is Jeonpo Times worth adding to a Jeonpo Café Street outing?

Jeonpo has a strong image as a place for adult cafés and restaurants, but if you look around, there are actually quite a few fun spots for kids too. Outings with kids don't need to be big elaborate trips. Going somewhere near home, eating something good, trying an experience you haven't done before, and taking a few photos — that's already enough to become a really good memory later.

If you're looking for something a bit different to do in Jeonpo, I think it's worth trying the moving photo book. I especially liked Jeonpo Times because the memory stays behind in the form of photos.
