11am sushi and sashimi platters with a baby in Dongnae: Moshi Moshi

I stopped by Lotte Department Store Dongnae to eat before heading to Dongnae Baby House to buy a car seat, haha. When you have a baby, department stores and outlets are the best...!!!! I'd been craving sushi for a while, so I went for it. When eating out with a baby, clean, bite-sized food is the best, right?

Where is Moshi Moshi Sushi, Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch?

Moshi Moshi Sushi is located on the 8th floor of the department store. I saw some people picking up takeout, too. If people are getting takeout from a restaurant inside a department store, that's got to mean it's the real deal, haha.

Is Moshi Moshi Sushi good with a baby? Strollers and high chairs

Moshi Moshi Sushi Dongnae Branch has wide table spacing and clearly divided seating, so it was easy to bring the stroller in. I visited around 11am and there weren't many customers, but it started getting busy right around when we were finishing up. As lunchtime approached, I saw quite a few customers coming in with strollers. Turns out department stores really are the best for parenting, lol. We could eat comfortably with the baby too (no interference from the next table).

There's reserved seating toward the back of the restaurant. It gets pretty crowded during meal times, so if you have a larger group, I'd recommend making a reservation.

There are plenty of high chairs too. You just grab one yourself.

What we ordered: two sushi platters and one sashimi platter

The menu ranged from set meals to platter (han-sang) menus. You could also add individual sushi pieces or noodle dishes. I was debating between the sets, since there were so many options, but the platter menu seemed easier to eat and cleaner, so I went with that. Oh, if you're not a fan of noodles, I'd recommend going with the sushi menu instead of the platter menu, haha.

We ordered two sushi platters and one sashimi platter.

The table comes pre-set like this. There's also a Naver receipt review event going on. I thought about joining for the 2 pieces of shrimp sushi, but the portion was already so much that I decided to pass.

What comes on the 35,900-won sashimi platter?

Sashimi platter, ₩35,900. It's the sushi platter menu with sashimi added on top. Aside from the sashimi, the rest of the items are the same as the sushi platter, so I'll show those in photos below.

The sashimi was thickly cut and the portion was just right for a full meal. There was no fishy taste at all, probably because the ingredients were fresh.

The 25,900-won sushi platter comes with tempura and udon

Sushi platter, ₩25,900. This is basically the standard(?) sushi platter, and it comes with tempura and udon. At most sushi specialty restaurants you'll find udon or soba sets, but rarely tempura — here they give you tempura too. As someone who loves tempura, I was thrilled.

The udon portion was as generous as if you'd ordered it as a standalone dish, and it was well-seasoned, good enough to eat like a side dish. My husband, who usually complains that udon tastes too floury and bland, finished the whole bowl here saying it was well-seasoned and delicious, lol.

Probably because it was fried fresh, it was crispy and delicious, and nice to try one piece of each kind. Shrimp tempura, sweet potato tempura, and sweet pumpkin tempura.

Probably store-bought, but the soft tofu salad was a perfect appetizer to whet the appetite after a while.

After finishing the sushi, the palate-cleansing salad was fresh too.

How does the sushi taste? Shrimp, eel and beef tartare pieces

Moshi Moshi Sushi's sushi stood out for its thick shrimp and generous eel pieces. As someone who loves shrimp sushi, I was so happy with these thick cuts.

The other sashimi sushi, like salmon, was also thickly cut but not overwhelming, so it was easy to eat even for someone like me who's not a big sashimi person ^.^

The tuna and beef tartare (yukhoe) sushi were delicious too. The yukhoe was fresh and the seasoning was so good I wanted to order more of it as a standalone dish, haha. Another good outing eating out with the baby today!!
