My paper-doll stamina just collapses the moment the temperature swings, haha... my throat and nose are still messed up from the aftereffects. So I went to Tongkeun Heukyeomso, known as a goat soup restaurant in Hyangnam, and got some recovery food in the form of a good-value ₩9,900 goat soup. Let me give you the full review — how it tastes, and whether it's really ₩9,900!

Tongkeun Heukyeomso Hyangnam Branch is located at 169 Samcheonbyeongma-ro, Hyangnam-eup, Mansei-gu, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, 1st floor. It's open from 09:30 to 20:00, with a break time from 3–4pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. There's a parking lot right next to the store.

The goat soup is ₩9,900, and the larger special portion is ₩15,000. The rib goat soup is sold in limited quantity. They also sell goat hot pot, seasoned goat, and boiled goat, but those can only be ordered for 2 or more servings. If you can't eat goat, there's samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) as a side menu option!

The ₩9,900 goat soup at Tongkeun Heukyeomso Hyangnam Branch arrived! I'd seen reviews saying the portion is small, but I thought it was just right. Not too much, not too little — the meat amount felt reasonable considering the cheap ₩9,900 price.

My daughter, who said she'd eat a lot, ordered the goat soup special. Sure enough, it had more meat and more broth. Even the bowl was different when I looked closely!

What does Tongkeun Heukyeomso's goat soup taste like?

The meat was delicious! The broth was similar to yukgaejang (spicy beef soup), so it seemed like anyone could eat it comfortably. Piping hot with a refreshing taste that blows away the cold's aftereffects~ It's also loaded with vegetables like bracken fern, chives, and green onion!

It's even tastier if you dip the meat and vegetables together in the sauce! There was also chewy, translucent meat mixed in, which I enjoyed a lot!

Mix rice into the goat soup broth and eat it with meat in one big bite — a warmth comes over you that feels like it's giving you energy~

Being able to eat a bowl of goat soup that's good for recovery for a cheap ₩9,900 felt like great value! The taste for the price was as satisfying as eating yukgaejang, and the meat was delicious too! Dipping the meat and vegetables in sauce was also clean and tasty! But if you're someone who eats a lot, I'd recommend ordering the special goat soup instead!
